I need some speakers....
What are some good speakers i can find for a decent price. Probably somewhere close to $50-$100 each or less would be in my price range.
I'll only be upgrading the font or the rears at one time so which one will give me better results to start with?
Can the change be done by myself? do i just cut the wires from the old one, and splice the new wires in?
Whether replacing my front speakers or rears would give me a better sound from the start. I'll be replacing both but not at the same time.
How do i install it? is it just a wire job or so i need a harness or to rip out everything to my CD player to get the wires there?
Front or back?

And the person who stated the front speakers are 5 1/4" might be mistaking the standard sizes for my car or the website i went to to find data(since i couldn't get any here) said they're 6.5"..... So am i getting told bad info here or on the other site? there's another question that would be nice to know. What are the actual stock sizes of my speakers? but since you're mad at me i'll probably not get an answer for that either.
I don't think my attitude was negative towards anyone and the fact that i think this part of the forum is lacking is pretty much backed up in that it hasn't helped any so far... even before i said it was lacking so...
All i would like is some input from people who know more about car audio then i do....which is what i thought this part of the forum was for. I guess i'll have to sign up for a car audio forum to get some answers.

How can we suggest brand or even any particular speaker. We don't know what you like. We don't know if the Alpine HU is hooked up directly to the speakers and if you have factory bose or non-bose setup. If the Alpine was adapted to go into the bose amps, then you have to bypass the bose amps when you replace the speakers. Why don't you tell us what you are looking to achieve. JBL, JL Audio. Focal, Pioneer are all good speakers. Some speakers are better than others in low end frequency reproduction and the same for the high end.
10 replies in less than 24hrs is pretty good for your question. Have you read the c4 FAQ?
Oh and my speakers are not just laying around. They are new, still in the box and on a shelf!!

I hear it's kind of hard to get to the front speakers so i couldn't measure them myself and i've seen conflicting numbers so i was confused.
I don't really care what brand of speaker as long as they sound good i guess. Something that gives me a good range of everything and doesn't break. Or if you can't recommend a brand inform me about what to look for in speakers so i can research it. I know watts has something to do with it but then there's max watts...ranges, and tons of stuff i don't know about.
I appreciate the offer but i'm not going to blow $125+ on speakers if i don't know anything about them or how to install them and all that good stuff. Maybe once i find out whats best for me i'd be willing to look into your offer but for now i just need to learn. But when it's the first post it just looks like spam to to me until i can get a grasp of it all.

I would say something like the Alpine Type-S. You can get them in both 5.25 (Alpine SPS-13C2) and 6x9 (Alpine SPS-69C3) sizes. You will get decent highs with the 5.25 with a decent lows with the 6x9s.
You can probably pick up the entire set for about $150 brand new.

Did you read the C4 Sticky at the top of the section?
As far as looking for speaker recommendations, your price range is some what limited. Right now I have Infinity speakers in my car, running off the head unit. They sound OK, better that the nothing I had when the Bose went out, but there are better choices. Take a look at Focal speakers ployglass line, they will offer the best "bang for the buck" but will cost more then the speakers Vince has for sale.
Redoing the stereo system in your car is just like rebuilting the engine. You cannot just post to the forum and expect to magicly have all of your questions answered. You have to dig a little, see all of the options, and then decide what is right for you.
BTW, if you have a Bose speakers in the car now, I would not use 6 x 9's in the back, 6-1/2" round will work better.

1. Add dynamat to the doors and rear at the same time you replace the speakers. The easiest would be do just go with a 2-way 5 1/4 and two or three way 6 x 9's. This should give you a nice sound inside the car. Make sure the speakers you choose now are efficient and can handle and amplifier later on.
2. If you want a bit more thump, but not necessarily want to shatter your windows, add a powered sub (bazooka 6 1/2 to 10", the bigger the more room it takes) again, only you know how much thump you want.
3. If you still want more output out of the door and rear speakers, add a 4-channel amplifier. Something at least 50w x 4 rms, again, only you know how loud you want it. 50 x 4 will sound clear and loud inside the car.
that still doesn't help....sorry. I'm no electrician and don't have the money nor knowledge to hook up subs, amps, sound damping stuff, let alone even the normal speakers yet.
nobody has explain how to hook up the new speakers....
I just want my CD player to play music that comes out of speakers that can handle the power and sound good at the same time and aren't going to put a huge hole in my walet.......................
Car Audio for Dummies
Seriously though, you are over thinking the situation. You just need basic skills to install speakers.
Remove the door panel
Remove the speakers
Might need to splice in new wires and/or speaker connectors
Install new speakers
Put door panel back on

LOL i'm not overthinking it I"M TRYING TO GET SOMEONE TO INFORM ME HOW TO DO IT. it took all of 20 posts for you to come in and sort of answer the question i asked in the first post while insulting me at the same time. I already said i figured you have to spice wires and what not but NOBODY confirmed that or even hinted to how. Plus the post by vince talking about installing dynomat, amps, subs, 3 6x9's ..... isn't just a simple splice job...
