Default double din bezel options

I'm looking for options for a double din bezel. The head unit will be a joying unit. i've been told the Metra kit will work but the finish will not match the interior. Are there any other options out there? I'm pretty set on the android HU because of options and price point.

Your issue is going to prob be more than the finish of which we correctly finish the Metra bezels
I think your the one I mentioned this to that all these off branded China radios are not true double din size. SOadds are very high you will have to cut/trim the opening on it.
UNLESS like I mentioned we can make you one for perfect fitment.

Metra and our bezels we make are made for traditional branded radios sub as Kenwood Pioneer JVC ect

I cant tell you how many times people have ignored this over the years and the 13k bezels we have made to yell at us because thier off branded radio WOULD NOT FIT

I think it may be me that you are thinking of. I emailed you about a week ago. I must have misunderstood the response sorry. I thought you said that i would have to buy the metra bezel and finish it myself.I thought you meant that you would not do a bezel for a radio you do not sell. If i bought the HU and shipped it to you with my bezel could you modify my stock bezel to fit the HU?

I ordered a Metra bezel from Denis and it works if you cut the ridge around the recessed edge of the double din hole. The Android is about 1/4" wider and 1/8" taller than standard. That is about the exact size of the ridge that I am talking about. Almost like it was made purposely as a cut out area for this reason.

I have noticed that most of the higher end installers are not huge fans of the Android units. I would have a hard time letting go of mine because it does everything but fit a standard hole.

Thanks for the input. I've never modified a C5 bezel myself. I dont understand why if dennis can cut the opening from 1.5 din to fit a kenwood what is the difference if it is cut just a little bigger? i guess i'll wait to hear back from Dennis.

I can kind of see what Dennis is saying. I tried to modify a stock bezel to fit the Android and there were issues. The little bit of size difference pretty much does away with the partisan between the head unit and climate control. It just doesn't look professional.

we can do this have done this many times

the problem is we are so busy making stuff for everyone that we are no longer just making a custom made to fit bezel for someone who has not purchased a radio from us. With the release of Metra bezels we are only make our custom versions that everyone wants for those who want to send a bezel to us with a radio purchase. We are no longer just going to allow for a bezel to be sent to us to be modified when radio is purchased elsewhere. As authorized audio dealers and your only authorized dealers for all car audio in this forum we can provide the radio to go with your bezel that needs modified

to make sure a off branded China radio fits
we must have the off branded radio
you must have it made with no ash tray
mo reason it would fit if we use. It's these options.
However like I said we won't be making bezels like this anymore as we do not sell these off branded radios never have and never will.

Hats fine. It if your going to talk about me in another presage post make sure you get it correct that I won't make it for you as it has to be custom again the bezel has to be custom made no matter if it's a Metra bezel or the other pre order bezels. The radio won't fit and you will need to make it to fit and cut Them.
So please don't say we wont just not make you something and mislead these forum members. We will modify all day long that are sent to us with a radio package. I just am not doing it anymore for these off branded radios not purchased from us. Sorry but I unlike the other please with preorder bezels we are actuall authorized audio dealers

itskinda like you buying all your food at Mcdonalds then walking over to Burger King for them to supply the place to eat it

I never "talked about you" in another thread. I just repeated what you told me. That you would only modify the bezel if the HU was purchased from you. I'm fine with that.Originaly what i had suggested was purchasing the "off brand" HU and shipping it to you with my bezel to be modified as i thought the issue was you not having the correct measurements. I'm fine with you not wanting to do the work it is your business after all. As for the mcdonalds burger king analogy it's nothing like that as i was going to use you to modify the bezel and supply all the other components needed for the swap. I wasn't trying to say anything negative about you or your company. At this point i just think i would be better off getting the vettenuts bezel and opening it up the additional .068" myself. But thanks for your help

In regards to the McDonalds and Burger King analogy, I look at it more as buying your burger from Burger King and your fries from McDonalds. Everyone knows that Burger King has the best burgers and McDonalds has the best fries, but then I end up eating it in the street because nobody wants me in their restaurant.

Mcdonalds does have better fries. I usually hit the drive thru and take it all home to eat.

I tried to make my own McDonalds fries and it just wasn't the same.
