Suggestion for a Headunit from DD Mods

Look at the manual for the Kenwood decks. That is the best place to compare the features. My fall back position is the 7704s. I once again bid on an Alpine ILX-207. I like the mechless designs. I don't need navigation, that is what google maps on android phones are for. Maybe you only get 5v pre-outs, (carefully selected capacitor, gold plated preout) when moving up to the 9904s from the 9704s. Moving from 9704s to 7704s, you lose the DVD slot, HD radio, and screen.

I saw an ilx-207 at best buy. I would have to play with the UI a bit more to see if I like it..
BUT, cost is the driving factor to me. If the Sony had a bit more features, then it might be a contender. If I decide I don't need HDtuner, then it opens it back to the Sony and W960..
Rumor is the Sony xav-ax200 will have some features..

your line of thinking is what took me to the 960
i was like, the EQ is spectacular. slightly better SQ than sony, has nav
sony had auto android but that means i'll have a cable always hanging around
cost was great on either.

Yeah, I will need to call the guys you mentioned above.
I stopped at another best buy today, they had a better assortment on the board, so I could mess with then units.. The Sony is nice with a basic display
Kenwood I was able to touch was the 9703s, I messed with the DMX7704S already. menus are not bad, I like the fact the Kenwood has an external GPS antenna on their units...
I have not seen a W960 in person just video.. I will look for some more videos
I don't think I will go wrong with any of the units.. I just need to determine what I am will to give up..

UGH!! I know when I had the App Radio, it was sort of annoying to plug the phone in all the time.. So that leads me to the w960.. I dunno

led me there too. wireless music and handsfree calling off your phone. nice audio features. sounds great, moderate cost

1) INE-W960 I found a non-HDMI for sub $500 new
2) DDX-9904s ( assuming I can get the killer price racebum mentioned)
3) DMX-7704s (I know not as nice, but I can get it here easy)
My plan is to gather my funds and when I have ~$500 I will go to the local shop with cash and see what I can do for unit 1 or 2

I have some additional questions that I should have asked early..
- Which screen of will be better in Direct sunlight? I do drive with the roof off
- Specific to Kenwood, how much improvement is the output stage between the 9904 and 7704?
- Capacitive vs Resistive, which will be better in car, my DD has resistive I believe
Concern on getting the deal vs warranty, granted if I get a deal at an authorized dealer, no issue.
Even though the Sony did not make my final 3, it is #4 and I keep thinking, maybe for my 27 year old car, it will suffice..
I like what the w960 has to offer, I like the price and plain interface of the Sony, I like the HD offering in the Kenwood and would be fine with the 7704s, assuming the output stage is still decent (remember I currently have an android unit)

yes I read that.. but that magic will take some time.. Let me get the Nak mounted up and ready to install.. Then it will be a bunch of email to you while I figure it out
