i think you'll like it. few things to keep in mind. you want to zero the deck out when you get it since it's used. under quick volume i'd set the sub to 7 when you set your gain voltage this way if you want to bump the bottom end you can click it to 8 afterword and also use the parametric. everything else is straight forward. personally i never use media expander or bass engine with alpine
I won a ebay auction for a Alpine iLX-207.
I could not find anyone locally that had one, since it is so new, so I could not try it out first.
Retail is $900.
Highlights include:
Three 4 volt pre-outs
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
7" capacitive touch screen.
Alpine TuneIt App
FLAC
HD Radio
9 band parametric EQ
6 channel time alignment
HDMI input and output
Cons:
No SPDIF output
versus
Alpine INE-W960HDMI, similarly priced has:
6.1" screen vs. 7.0"
No flac vs. flac
Disk player vs. mechless

if you got a 207 for 500 that's a no brainer. better deck
I purchased a INE-W960.. Based off of Racebum's suggestion
Looking forward to testing it out.. then getting it in the car
That is a wise decision. The sound quality is awesome and it is simple to use once you get used to it. My only con is the screen could be a tad brighter.

uh-oh.. I always have the roof off when I can.. will it be completely washed out?
I need to go get it at USPS today, then power it on the bench to confirm it works..

Most head units would probably get washed out. Your best bet would be to get a head unit with a capacitive touch screen and maybe screen tilt, but then that would raise your price point considerably.

Unit looks good. I got a Eric Church CD ( in unit), got a RP4-GMxx PAC Interface ( going on eBay) a Stinger Ground Isolator.. PAC TR4 for the Brake bypass I think
Trimmed my modded Radio bezel for it, I just need to do some MEK Fill and sand and paint it
just throw out everything you have and throw those altecs on the passenger seat...
You know.. I could tell a difference in headunits from the android, nak and Alpine, with those altecs!!!
They work for a mini bench set-up. I need a small amp to power a set of 2-ways I have then I can have a nice little audio bench.. my power supply is good for 30A..

i was thinking an a/d/s PS5 for the audio bench
do you still have one? only problem with so much of this old gear is it needs to be refreshed. leaking caps etc
there are services that do all of this and do it well. guys often rebuild the older adcom home amps for the same reason. they are cheap and with a refresh outperform anything at that price point
