No I don't have a PS5.. I did at one point years ago.. sold it.
I can fix caps (easy enough) but it would just be for a bench
Also I think I am going to buy the add on tuner for SXM.. Since i will have the car apart for install, now is the time, then I have the capability if i choose it, I have SXM free until Dec on my Daily car, at that time maybe I can get a deal on another year...
for $45 I think it is worth it as I have GM LAN Adapter I can sell for for that much

the 960 hdmi comes with the xm kit
i have a 960hdmi and no interest in xm
how's 35 shipped? it's the sxv300 with the antenna and cable to attach to the deck, round din cable, all new in the bags
My current radio has the GPS antenna under the dash pad and seems to work well, So do you think i can do the same with the XM antenna? I would prefer not to have to run it to the outside of the car. I also thought right on the edge of the dash closest to the windshield.

Yeah I know the GPS will work without issue, I was wondering about SXM.. like you I will install it, not sure I will activate it yet..

sadly no. XM always has to unobstructed. you can experiment with placement but it's no where near as forgiving as gps. i sent you their most current antenna with the receiver kit. carl's grill idea may be worth a shot...oh wait. c4 dash is solid on top....

Not completely. I will put it on the Defroster vent then.. it can sit in place of the sensor for C68 AC, I have C60
just put the music in a folder with a name you will remember, by artist, album, show etc
scan is instant. i leave mine plugged in all the time stached in the glovebox.
Yeah it rebooted a couple times while trying to scan. I am under the limit which is 10k folders and files.. I might be at 4K. I am trying a USB 2.0 device

I get it and realize that. There is no real good spot on a C4.

I put about 8000 songs in AAC format on a 256 gb usb drive and upon plugging it in, the 960 showed all the songs but they weren't available organized by album or artist. In the meantime it continued to say "Loading...." at the bottom of the screen. It took about a half hour of driving around before it quit loading and the songs were available by artist, so it wan't instant for me at all. Since then, no issues, though.
I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but I go into the folder properties on the usb drive and format it for music, also.

you have to make folders on your pc, put what you want in each. the folders will all show up. i have never had to use a music format as the deck works great with just files
so basically name your folders what you will. put what you want in each then you should see all those folders
I'll withhold any comment concerning your amusing subjective anecdote about sound quality, but I'm just curious...
Why would you remove a high end Pioneer AVIC-7200NEX head unit with HD radio and replace it with a cheaper non-HD unit with a smaller screen?

you basically ran your mouth before doing even one iota of research
if you're a "feature buyer" you're never going to get it
i'm somewhat convinced different people have different abilities in regards to hearing. some people really can't tell a difference and this is more common with receivers. people buy features for HT. if you go to a hi-fi shop it's completely different. you find people who can hear. who do notice the difference. if you can't and you see sound as "subjective" it's going to be an apples and oranges discussion. subjective is B&W vs martin logan. different sounds but both good. threshold vs mcintosh. different sounds, both good. that's subjective. some people lack the ability to differentiate tone to the same degree as others. if you can't hear these fine details on the one hand i see it as sad you're missing out but on the other you have no idea what you're missing.
pioneer has no focus on SQ and is all about the features. alpine is one of the lone standouts making a deck with a fairly balanced pre out that does not require a dsp to try and correct. a dsp can improve it but it's not that bad without. mated with a quality amplifier and decent speakers there is a very pronounced SQ difference between alpine and pioneer.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Yes, I went down in features but the improvement in sound quality is literally night and day. I mean it's not even close. It's like comparing a Yugo to a Porsche. I know I am not the only one that has heard the difference. Note, I do not have DSP, just the head unit going directly to two amplifiers with mids and tweets front and rear and 2 10 inch subs in the back.
So I have a DSP, it ia temporarily wired. When I get to install my Alpine i will not wire the DSP and see how it sounds. I will then mount the DSP where I want it and wire it in
Unfortunately I need to get my foot fixed and I will not be able to move around easily for the 6 weeks (Approx) then I might be able to work on the car. I might find time to remove the Dash pad this evening
