Good thing I do. He went with the 1000/5 to get the sub power he needs to drive 2 x 10W3s. The other 4 channels are the same power rating as the 700. I think the components selected will be superb and sound tremendous. Let's not forget gents, it always easy to spend other people money.

It was only a net difference of $50

"Optimum for the subs is anywhere from 250 - 300 W

numbers/ratings are what they are. If an 80W speaker can handle 200W without any problems, then Focal is lying and it should rate it at 200W, or maybe the Amp is not really a 200W amp? This is fun, haven't thought about audio for a while, and now I'm wanting to tear up my C7... good thing all of my gear from my C6 fits in there.

Wasn't this a thread about the dash speakers?

As I said...talking about C6 audio is enough to make me see red and want to punch babies.

Don't fret bro...you're on the right path.

Yeah, I feel the same. Unless he can score those PS165F3 for an even better price from somewhere. Otherwise, the $450 jump is probably not worth it.

Unfortunately I do a pretty good job of spending my own money also.

Just did my 11. Ripped out all speakers. Added mounting adapters for 6 3/4 in front doors and rear. Ran new speaker wires and rca cables from head unit to 5 channel amp to 4 speakers. Adding a sub in a few weeks currently have my old C5 box in my trunk.

I tried the new head unit using the Bose amp.......YUCK!

Sounded like crap

Added 6 3/4 Rockford Fosgate 3 way all around and the 5 channel amp....Much better
