Default Poor Fitting Pioneer

Just bought a new pionee AVH2500NEX to put in my 2005 vette, and mounted it to a metra dash kit.. Well radio sits in way to deep and makes it hard to get to controls like vol and others..
So any idea if a different brand of install kit would be any different ?? like Scosche ???

Pick different screw holes to mount the brackets in the correct position on the side of the head unit. Took this picture from another thread.

Also, I'mnot sure if you have the 2 pieces of the Metra kit connected properly. It's hard to tell from the picture, but you should have seen this before installing if you had the faceplate and brackets installed properly prior to install.

The faceplate goes on and gets installed from the rear and then gets pushed forward until it clicks into place. If I remember correctly.

I can't help but think it's not installed correctly. If you put the faceplate and brackets together correctly and then slide it over the head unit until you get to the desired look, then stop and screw it in.

The rounded corners have to be at the top. From the one picture provided it appears that the correct side is up.

Yeah, couldn't tell for sure if it was right or not as mine's not real close to compare it to (my shop's about 100' from my house). Just a shot in the dark.

Its not upside down.. Curved corners go up.. Bottom corners are square to match to heater controls head.

Had radio out and i was right . Without modifying the metra dash kit , radio doesnt sit into mount deep enough and makes it hard to work buttons. And you can see there is hardly any chin on the face which makes for the metra mount to not sit down far enough.. Thats only about a 1/8 of a inch lip.
So i decided to return radio for a refund.. Also i found that the screen on the radio is terrible to view in the day light. As its to reflective and cant read the screen 75% of the time, and its a fixed plate so you cant angle it. My older AVH5700 i could tilt the screen to help
