USB in c6 console question

USB in c6 console question
I will be installing a new kenwood head unit in 2012gs with factory nav/bose and would like to keep the existing usb port in tjhe console if possible
the kenwood has 2 usb connections grey and black, one for android and one for apple ?? not clear on this yet, stereo arrives tomorrow
after searching the forum, I have seem most folks just replace cig lighter with new usb port or put usb wire in glove box.
one post said to connect new kenwood to old usb wire going to console buy this adapter
it is usb A standard male to usb mini B male
but another post said we need a USB A standard male to USB mini A not B
has anyone connected a new head unit to the current usb wiring going to console ? if so how
new stereo has wireless android auto so dont want to be pluging in wire to dash where cig lighter is now
