Hi.. I have a 2010 that did not come with a screen and I want to add a screen mainly for CarPlay features.
Just wondering if the install is easy enough? I really don’t want to scratch up any panels or break any clips.. it looks like removing the center isn’t too bad?
Another concern is that it doesn’t appear any of the aftermarket screens are compatible with the OEM microphone? Where does everyone install the microphone and where would be the easiest place to put it? Also I didn’t see any options where the OEM microphone would work, but is there an option I’m missing?
I assume by screen, you’re referring to an aftermarket system, this would be a good place to start to see what all’s involved with the installation. https://www.corvetteforum.com/how-to...igation-368176 As far as using the stock mic with an aftermarket system, I tried with my Pioneer system and it didn’t work, I can’t speak for other brands, but I can’t say I’ve heard where anyones got it to work. As far as mounting the mic, I just mounted mine up by the stock mic, and it works fine, and isn’t really noticeable.
I have heard of a few guys using the stock microphone but it was with mixed reviews. To use the stock microphone, you would need to splice into the wiring at the microphone, not from inside the console. I didn't bother with it and just mounted mine in the same location at Madsonp pictured above.
