Several of us dropped off our C5Z06s with Genesis One in north Georgia following last weekends NASA Road Atlanta event. Mine is the first on the chopping block. I'll keep this thread updated with pics as BJ sends them to me.

Most of this is prep. He had to pull out my rollbar, cut the fiberglass in the door sills and then weld in the mounting plates.

Looking good.
Make sure to reconnect the ground in this pic or you'll be chasing all sorts of electrical gremlins.

That was the ground that make Val's car be a PITA right? Have you guys cut out all the wires rear of there? Now that I installed the manual trunk pull I have no need for all of that wiring back there.

I pulled that entire harness and never had any issues. FM.

I remember when my cage was being built, I couldn't wait for picture updates. What about the fuel tanks. How is your builder working around that?

So you just cut it out around the passenger side footwell? Sorry for the hijack Kevin

The tanks are out... if they were in the car you'd be seeing them through the hole in the rear "wall". For my setup I took the tanks out and took the roof off before taking it to my cage guy.

Yup, all the way up to the computer in the footwell and never had a problem. Go figure.

No problem with the hijack, I know where you race. Besides, all good information.

I will be leaving the wiring harnesses as they are until after the 2012 season. I spent WAY too many years in the electronics field to even want to mess with it. FM stands for "effing majic" for a reason.

If you don't mind me asking, what will the cage cost?

Thanks

Right around 3k. As with anything, it could have been cheaper if I had done more of the prep and it could have been more expense if I had opted for more bells and whistles.

You sure that the tank will fit back in the hole with the cage pad wrapped around the frame like that? We had a HECK OF A TIME getting my passenger tank back in and my pad had just a little welds at the corner...not a steel plate wrapped around it?

Not a bad price for a good cage. I wish there was someone close to me that did that type of work.
