I'm late viewing this thread.

DOC427, give Deanoshiro a chance to make it right. He's put forth a reasonable explantion and knows there is a problem. He's offering to fix the problem and you should understand his viewpoint.

Maybe he screwed up.

Maybe you did.

But just communicate, forgive and forget, and fix the *&!$%^%# problem.

The pictures of parts he wants are to help YOU .....make sure you have the right stuff!!

He's offered to refund your $ and do practically everything but wax your car for you.

So, the '***** in your court' DOC. Now be a good Austrian and co-operate like man and you'll get your parts.

Couldn't be much easier this...at this point.

I think cutting him a break isn't too much of a chore. OK? I hope his problem gets resolved and he reports the outcome soon.

I have several friends in Germany and Switzerland. They are kind gentle folks who would never act like this bufoon. They have manners and would never stomp their feet and bash countries. I hope he gets his problem with his car resolved but perhaps he could learn some manners while he is at it.

I have always been a proud, died-in-the-wool yankee doodle dandy but I think all the name calling in this thread is just ridiculous. So the guy got ticked that his e-mails were going into the spam folder and he was getting no satisfaction for the $3000 US that he spent and he went off with a little of not well thought out nationalistic vitriol. Face it, we are indeed a nation of arrogant, one language only, were always right people....it is all part of what made this a great nation and unlike the French, we are just ignorant of the other guys language, not just too darn stuck up to converse with them in it. I think that most of the members here would feel a lot the same way if we sent our hard earned dollars overseas and then had to deal with their shipping department sending our package to the other USA (Union of South Africa). There has been a reasonable explanation for the shipping error and an offer to correct the problem....CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG???

Now things are going on, I sent a mail,-same day!- I received an answer,Dean Oshiro is now doing ,what he should have done 2months ago!
Nice to see, there are calm and collected posters , sadly the minority, but there´s always hope...some people have a different sight , what good manners are and still can`t discern germany and austria..maybe they didn´t learn at school or attendet only a arboriculture
Anyway , when Oshiro has fulfilled his promises, I will inform you!

So very sad...some people will use any excuse to bash Americans or blame all the world's problems on the USA...

...My encounters with American people and US companies has always been very positive.... Some of the most helpful and friendly people I've ever encountered are Americans... It's time to lock this thread as the originator is using this forum for a non-Corvette issue with an intent to be disruptive...and somewhat offensive to our very good American friends....

I ride an Austrian dirtbike.

The company that supplies the front & rear suspention is called "White Power" Don't think you'd get away with that on this side of the pond.

I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same...

This "Austrian" (G'day by the way... ) came in here with a clear agenda to create a ruckus and get noticed. This was self-admitted.

Further, he initiated the negative comments towards Americans and American businesses, then tried to play the victim when retaliatory insults flew back his own way and acted like he was attacked first. Of course! Shift the blame! Truly laughable.

When notified, the American retailer honorably and calmly came forth with a full explanation, plus attempts to remedy the situation. Yet this "Austrian" (G'day!) guy has still got his sticky little panties in a bunch and continues with the abrasive attitude directed at the retailer and this forum without need.

Personally, if I was in the retailers shoes, I'd simply say return any parts received for a full refund, cut any remaining losses, and let the twit go back to part shopping. I doubt the loss of a single one-time "Austrian" (G'day!) customer with a pissy attitude will scar his business permanently.

Keep in mind, Chevrolet is an American business.

Hitler was born in Austria too. Perhaps we should judge you based on that.

One can only imagine what would be posted if the situation was the other way around - Someone in the U.S. buying a brake system from a supplier in Austria and having a problem. I'm sure most of the U.S. posters would be venting against "all" Austrian suppliers.

Not taking any sides, but if you read the first few posts, he was merely reflection his frustration in his purchases from U.S. suppliers - the same as many others have vented on this and other forums, when they feel they have a problem with a supplier. Most of the "nasty" comments that followed were fueled from this side. What would you do if 50 people were all against you for what you said. Give it some thought before flying off the handle. I think at this point, in a short period of time, both the customer and supplier will work the problem out to both of their satisfactions.

Wisest statement to this point , but would I have had the success , that the vendor is now -hope so- trying to fix the problem ,without provoking so many nasty posts???

I believe that you would have if you had gotten his attention in any other way, as well. He seems to be to be an honorable vendor trying to do a good job with the very difficult communication and red tape issues of dealing with a customer overseas. I don't think there was any need for you to bash all americans and american companies but your frustration was certainly understandable. I think you were unlucky enough to have many rare occurances come together to give you a particularly frustrating experience with this vendor. I hope both you and the vendor are not so short sighted as to completely stop doing business with americans or overseas, as the case may be, because of this experience.

Once again, you thought so little of us that you thought you would only get help if you made us mad? Your logic escapes me completely, but all you need to do is ask for help on this forum, and you usually get it! You really don't need to insult us all to get such help, we do it out of the goodness of our heart.

You however, decided to be a jerk, instead of asking for assistance nicely. I make no distinctions as far as the country you are from, because there are plenty of jerks in this country, and obviously there are jerks in Austria.

Regards, John McGraw

Default Hey Dean

The good news is that I didn't know that your company existed. I'm moving to a new home soon and expect to get back to work on my hotrod. I'll be needing parts and will see if you can help me out. So hey, a new customer just because of one posting. Hummm....I wonder. Maybe you could get someone to go around to the different forums and make posting like the one that got this thread started. You might double your business.

Having followed this thread for a awhile, it seems that while mistakes where made I just don't understand why you never picked up the phone to call them?? If I spent that much you could be damn sure I would've called whether they're in my country or not.. So while you had a valid gripe the way you went about it's resolution was flawed.. If I was Dean, I'd just have you send everything back and take the loss on the sale. You're not worth having as a customer..

Last but not least we don't EVER,EVER,EVER bring in talk about daughters, mothers, familes etc... the way you did.. It's not called for and shows your imaturity...While I'm not in your country I'd surely find someone to just kick your sorry a$$!!!!

/joe
