As Kerrmudgeon said it sure does put the factory finish to shame. I have a 67 Coupe in Lyndale Blue Lacquer. Every where I take the car it gets compliments on the unique color. My car is painted to match factory specs and I intend to leave it that way. I'm wondering if your car is painted with water bourn base coat and then cleared in urethane? I've painted many corvettes in my day and would love to do my car over in two stage materials. Beautiful work and thanks for all the posts. Al W.

I could send you a pic Al. My Lyndale has 5 coats of the high solids PPG clear.
But I haven't cut and buffed it yet.
Slalom's paint just kills me, I REALLY want to see that 2 color hood out in the sun.
Spent Saturday cleaning out the garage and sorting all the new shiny parts. Had to put a few on... Thanks Ohiovet for the LED lights, going to be nice. Also got the drive shaft painted and aligned/bolted in. Fabricated the trans mount bracket, just need some hardware to get it all bolted together.

Thanks for all the comments, I'm really getting excited to see it all come together - just keep reminding myself not to rush!
Beautiful weekend here in Tejas. Got the transmission mount fabricated and painted, will attach it tonight once I pick up the correct bolts. Also put on the rear emblem (couldn't resist installing a little bling) as well as the final two taillights.
Made the final adjustments to the exhaust manifolds and got them on as well as the dipstick.
Assembled the in-tank fuel pump into the tank and bolted it onto the frame. Just need to determine the best location for the fuel pressure regulator and get it mounted and lines run.
Oh yeah, I also put the new Optispark on. Going to get new wires on before installing the water pump.

You've done an AMAZING job so far . . . this car will be gorgeous! Quick question . . . are you going to change the T5 shifter before you drop the body? . . . that one won't line up very well in the opening!
Howdy Tom, Yes! The shifter is one of the "next" items to deal with. I have three pieces that will become one; the standard shift stem, a stem with the Hurst/two bolt connection and a new chrome ball shifter. I'll cut off the stem riser on the first/weld the two bolt top with the offset like you did and then install the new shifter. More pics to follow on that one.
My new injectors should be here in a few days so I'm going to try and get the fuel supply all buttoned up by Saturday. Hopefully, first "fire up" will be in a few weeks!! Then a body drop party...
Doing a bunch of misc things that need to be done prior to body drop. I'm almost done with the fuel lines, just got the new injectors and am shooting for a trial engine start just after Thanksgiving, we'll see... Finally got the clutch z-bar on, had to make some minor adjustments to the header tube to clear everything. Got the battery tray on and had to make a transmission dust seal from some misc sheet metal.

Fuel lines are all finished now and waiting on all my new engine sensors. Have started to hang the exhaust and working through the manifold fit issues. I guess every resto-mod has it's quirky spots, these seem to be mine... The headers are Hooker SS shorties that came on one of the donor engines so I cleaned them. Had to modify one side for the clutch z bar, now have been trying to get the collector bolt plates to fit. The 2.5" exhaust just had a 2" collector (they are set up to bolt to the stock CI manifolds), and the headers have a bolt pattern for a 3" flange. Had to fabricate the bolt plates for 2.5" tube and the bigger bolt centers, also had to cut down one side to clear the Steeroids rack. Will find the best location for the O2 sensors and get those bungs welded on last.
The T5 mounts differently, so also had to fab the mods for the exhaust hanger bracket. Not too pretty but stout. Got my speedo 90 degree adapter in and will get it on soon as well.
The passenger side muffler has about 3/4" clearance to the frame in the back but the driver side is touching, will need to bend the bracket slightly or us some spacers to get it to hang right.

Back into it after Holidays, family stuff etc... This past weekend was spring-like here in TX, 76 degrees and sunny so got lots of garage time. Totally finished with the exhaust work now, even put the heat shields and O2 sensors on. Had to rotate the passenger side a bit to clear the T5. Put the rear deck lid on to do final fit on the seats. Leather should be in tomorrow, then I'll get the seat work going. Should get the remaining sensors in today or tomorrow as well so will start the final engine assembly. Then it's just wiring harness, add some gas and see if she'll start up. Getting close to body drop!!

slalomfiend, a while back you posted this picture of the convertible top compartment. I'm wondering what is the purpose of the ?? that I have the arrow pointing to. My '66 does not have this feature.
