Correct Gary, when I got the car the little plastic plugs for these holes were still in there. One is still okay but one broke into pieces as the plastic has dried out. Anyone know where to get them or have a cheap replacement idea??
repo: long island corvettes, paragon, zip etc., would be a start and unless you are ncrs bound the above comment about hardstore good start, good luck.
I got the new injectors in and the fuel rail cleaned and installed this weekend. Also found a NOS '95 engine wiring harness, I'll remove the circuits that have been omitted.

I got the fuel lines finished as well as a few certain mods that an LT1 guru clued me in on. Installed the new water pump and the coil. Was really nice last Saturday so I cleaned and painted the engine bay. Next will be wiring harness, accessory bracket and splash guards. Hope to start it soon!

The engine bay looks fantastic.
Did you put the heat blocking gel behind the coil control module?
The Opti makes me cringe a bit, I just changed yet another one on my LT1.
If you put your engine bay pic beside mine, it's hard to tell which one is which.
Bill, yes to the heat gel and he also had me float it off the heads with a couple of washers on each side. Says that heat transfer is greatly reduced that way and the coils last much longer. He also detailed his pre-lube process by running the starter w/o the fuel and ignition fuses in making sure to test for 30-35lbs of pressure, then all good. Can't use the drill method on these LT1's!!
Funny that our pics are SO similar but why wouldn't they be?!!!
I'll be stapling the dust shields on tomorrow and adding the accessory bracket.
I too love this build! You do tremendous work. I have a '64 coupe been sitting since the early 80's I'm going to redo. But first finishing up a 68 Camaro convertible that is completely blown apart. Nice to see your LT motor as that's my choice for the 'vert. Hard to believe that's "old school"now. LOL

Yea, I can't figure out why GM engineers would bolt a piece of electronics to the freekin' cylinder head.
The only difference between the engine bay pics is that my body is the same color as your stripe. If I had a big block hood, I'd paint the stripe the color of your body.
Spent this weekend cleaning parts and getting them on the engine. Spark plug wires/clips, brackets, alternator, power steering lines, etc. - getting closer to firing it up!

Finally got the power steering pressure hose fabricated and installed. Then got the other low pressure lines on and the new belt. Laid out the new wiring harness and should get it all snapped in place tonight. Then I guess it's just add fuel, battery, do the pre-lube and fire it up!! Should happen Saturday so don't stand by any tall buildings, they may shake!!

While the engine harness if getting done, I'm also doing some other prep work for "body drop". Got the splash guards "stapled" on and the deck lid hardware cleaned up ready for paint. Also got new plastic sleeves on the wiper pivots.
Question do the pivots get body paint or stay black??
Also had to fix the little cracks on the console side cover, will get it smooth and painted as well.

Rhett, the black plastic boots stay black. Wiper arm shafts black too. The interior of the cowl area under the grills also gets blacked out over body color. Fyi, Bill
