Here are the two front sections installed with console and parking brake cover just set in. Also finished the jack cover board. Just have to do the door sill edges...

Was able to mount the parking brake, it's easier to feed the cable through the hole, then the grommet - then push the grommet in place. Thought I'd be able to push the cable through with the grommet in place - NOT! Just FYI... Then onto more fun, getting the hardware and weatherstripping on the deck lid. Got it installed and gapped. Also installed the gas cap cover, starting to look more complete with each step now!

You will thank me latter if you paint the bird cage cross bar now before you install the dash. Nothing worse then looking under your dash and having all new wiring and freashly restored parts and having a ugly steel bar with over spray
Everything else looks great

Almost finished with the Old Air Products A/C blower box install and started the dash wiring install. Got the rebuilt fresh air vents installed, as well as the pull handle brace in one of the doors. The rivets were pretty easy to install using a body dolly to buck the back side and hammer on the rivet head.

Finally took the time to shorten the shifter per Tom Austin's advice, the short throw is really nice!
Also built the USB/MP3 connection in the ash tray. I had a piece of leather textured plastic that I drilled/filed and painted with interior color. I had to cut the bottom off of the ash tray anyway because it hit the top of the tranny at an angle. I'll plug the MP3 cable into the back of my radio. This way, I don't have to use the cigarette lighter location for my USB with the wires hanging down on my legs. It'll all be hidden under the stock console sliding cover when my ipod or phone is not connected. I found a dual, 2.4amp USB insert (that glows blue) and took it out of it's housing (found this process on the Google ), soldered it to a long wire and will connect to a non-switched circuit. Hot glue does great at fixing it all in place from behind.
I also took out the dash harness. I'll reinstall per Lars' method and put it in with the dash cluster - don't want to have to do it all upside down...

Aaron came over on Saturday and helped finish up the A/C box install, as well as the radiator and condenser coil. The USB/MP3 ash tray is also complete and in.

Got the first dash pad back yesterday and it's great! Should get the second one by the end of the week and then I'll get them attached to the dash shell, radio, clock - then in the car! The fluorescent lights make the leather look more blue but in the sun the color is super schweet!!

Jody got the second dash pad to me before the weekend so I got them trimmed and mounted to the dash shell. Then put the dash harness on the cluster and got it mounted. While buffing the ignition face, I went ahead and buffed the other stainless for the door as well.

Thanks Mike! The boat platform is definitely only for setting things on, not banging, cutting or grinding!! After the last post, I masked off the door areas and painted the dash rivets. Also got the glove box lock buffed and installed.

Have to pick my moments for working in the 98 degree garage... Got the A/C and vent cables routed finally, took forever to get them into a place that didn't bind. Also got the brake/clutch bracket and pedals installed only to take them back out when I realized I hadn't reinforced the welds from the clutch to the shaft like I needed. Then reinstalled the brake booster. Things always seem to go back in quicker the second time...hmmm!

Finally found an engraving company that would work with me on the fonts for the shift plate. The numbers and letter R are from three different fonts, really close to the original (in the middle) and SO much better than the resto part. Actually engraved and color filled so the characters are the same depth as the original, not blasted and screened... Couldn't get the pic to rotate, sorry.
