I had to do it last late last night. put the decklid on. Starting to look like a real car instead of a bunch of parts in the garage. At least that's what the wife says and she is never wrong

Not sure if everyone likes a BB hood and Rally wheels but I do. If I could afford it sidepipes would be my next purchase cause I would rather listen to the engine than the radio. Just my thoughts. Different strokes for different folks!

I like the wheels...but that is THE best looking hood they ever made IMHO. And I like the undercar exhaist

Definitely coming together!! That's my favorite hood too! You can always do the side pipes later, once the wallet heals some!! I'm a big fan of those too!

mspry, please wait a while for for your eyes to heal! Had it done on both eyes. I also installed a new windshield on my 66 vert. There is a lot of info on the forum. Order what they used for installation. Don't substitute materials. Make sure the rope or cord is the correct size. This is a two man operation. Don't over force it. don't force your rubber up or down until you are sure of the fit to SS / rubber exposure is the same all around
windshield. If you take your time it will come out good. I have my doubts if it can be completely water proof. Wish I could be there to help.

I needed some Eye Candy so I changed my Avatar! Good for the healing process. APV thanks for the tips. I might not be up to it. I cut the grass today and even with glasses that wrap around your head managed to get some sand in the eye. rest is in order!

Woke up this morning and my eye is better but still having issues focusing. Might just relax today. A friend is coming over this afternoon to help test fit the windshield. I fired it up for the first time in 6 months with no problems.

Installed the windshield yesterday. Not a really hard job but time consuming. Making sure everything is clean and ready for sealer. I will let it dry for a couple of days and then clean up the outside of the windshield.

Just a thought for new guys trying to clean a mess on your paint. Prepsall works great!

Finished the hood and top fenders and it is really coming out great. Will be working on it more this Thursday so I will wait to take pic's then. I am really happy with the rally red. It does make the car lines pop!

Blocked and polished the rear half and my painter is coming over to look it over today. Should have the carpet in today also and will start bolting parts back on. This is my favorite part of the job. Pic's coming this weekend.

I can't wait! I love people doing it themselves (no ill will to those who cannot due to other obligations). Every time I enjoy my tired-paint '64 I think about the trade off: the fun of driving it versus the fun of blowing it apart for paint and taking it off the road a little bit.

You are right about the trade off. I started the project in October and it's now May and the weather here in North Carolina is beautiful. I should have it back together in a week or two.

I would not cover a freshly painted car for 6 months. Let it breathe and release solvents. Just my thoughts.

It's covered because of our cats. I make sure it gets fresh air once a day.

My eye is finally getting back to normal. Can't believe how much brighter the world really is. I will be back to cutting and polishing this weekend. Sorry about the delay in pics.
