[C2] Fuel/Lead Additive needed?
Ethanol-free gas is really common here on the Gulf.

I am convinced my boats 4 stroke Yamaha engines are going to blow up from the 10% ethanol gas I have to feed them.
So I also run a bit of Octane Supreme 130, mixed to add 3-4 points of octane.
Otherwise I have to retard the timing by an unacceptable amount.
The plastic bottles you see at auto parts stores are garbage.
What makes you think it's only 10%?
My son works for BMW and handles warranty issues. A gas check has become mandatory in most cases and he said he's found situations where the gas was almost 20% ethanol. In most cases the fuel appears to have come from one of the huge retail operations that has no refining capabilities.
He gives me h*ll for buying gas at Costco. Of course I don't listen to him.

Here on Long Island gas pumps offer regular 87, mid grade 89 and premium 91-93 fuel. Regardless of which grade choice you make the pump states the fuel will contain 10% ethanol. I imagine the actual ethanol content will vary on analysis but they are representing it as a 10% blend.
Also available here is E85 the 85% ethanol / 15% gasoline blend. (cat ****)
Wish we could get fuel without the ethanol but the NYS gov in all it wisdom has made sure that it is no longer available to us.

Here in central NY I have at least a dozen stations within 1/2 hr. drive. I think there are a lot of stations offering no-lead because of the boating community (Finger Lakes), where I am located. Did you ever check with the marinas in your area, you may find it there, but be prepared to pay marina prices!

I see plenty available upstate but unfortunately not a single one on the Island, marina or otherwise. I had previously called Marinas that sell fuel down here but no one sells it.
Thought it was NYS ban but it must be a county level gov "idea".
I have been using it in the 66 without any ill effects for years but I really think it is harmful to my Yamaha outboard motors.
I smell a conspiracy ☺

Sunoco just made major deal with 7-Eleven
"After the sale, Sunoco said about 29 percent of its wholesale fuel business will be 7-Eleven outlets, 25 percent to Sunoco dealers, 13 percent to commercial fuel buyers and 31 percent to distributors of Sunoco and other branded fuels such as Chevron, Exxon, and Valero."
