Hi Guys
I have been searching the C1/C2 Forum for King Pin “Grease Caps” and found last updated posts back in 2012.
My question is if any of you know a place to get the “Grease Caps” without having to buy a complete King Pin set ?
The Kanter caps (if they would even sell them individually) fit terribly, and still needed epoxy for me to feel comfortable that they would not pop off during usage or greasing.

A photo would help. I was not aware of any grease 'caps', although I would assume they are on the ends of the king pin openings? I guess if they are not missing they go unnoticed.
Here's a shot from Tom Parsons' document (last page) on the complete rebuild of a C1 front suspension.
Note the part about only the top getting the cap.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the photo. Personally, I would be inclined to use a cup plug (freeze plug) and be done with it. It wouldn't look 'correct', but it would seal it up just fine and stay put.

Ya know.... when I changed the king pins on my '60 using NAPA kits, I think I remember correctly the kits came with simple expansion plugs.

Of course, I've rebooted since then.
Jim,
You are correct, each kit contains, or SHOULD contain, 2 expansion plugs per side (one top, one bottom) which are retained by snap rings. But the flimsy caps pictured above only goes on the top on each side.
Here is an expansion plug and snap ring, expansion plug (installed, but snap ring not installed), and cap.
