You should get your own section, out of over 50 sections only Off Topic and C5 General have more posts than you

I was actually suggesting a

"Ask Bubba" section..

People would ask questions and I would offer bubba fixes involving my dremel, duct tape and JB Weld

Like I said...just post it in the original thread where you discussed what you did with the car. That's where it belongs

I think the title says tech/performance. We watch a motor like Oliver's being built, contribute to solving the problems and then he is not allowed to post the results in the section that gave him the help. I seldom wonder to the general section so I miss his posts.
My car is comming out in the next few days. I have posted alot about it's modifications. Now that is it ready for road testing do I go somewhere else to post the results of my testing?? I feel if the results are just as important as the techinical questons and the group of guys that contributed/followed along.
I don't want to post my test ride in General where I don't hang out.
Testing/results should be part of tech. We are a group with the same interests why stick our results with someone who wonders what oil to use, what tire pressure to set the tires, what wax gives the best shine.
That stuff is general, Oliver's times and updates belong with the tec group.

Dep, I don't think that it would work too well to post the results in one of the threads. First of all, how would somebody know that the thread contains track results if it's not in the title, and furthermore, track results are usually the result of several mods and therefore should be in a separate thread...

Technical issues, performance issues...how to, what to do, help me to do this, what do I do to get this done, heres what you do...blah blah blah...not I ran 11.32's on a stumbling car with a bum carb and my hard top flew off, oh well I was still happy as i got my best ET...

There is a difference between questions and answers (how to) vs. narrative

Nope...posting "I just turned an 11.09...whooo hooo!!!!"....is HARDLY
tech OR performance. That is just general information. More precisely, it's just blowing your own horn
It doesn't really contribute ANYTHING to tech or performance. You aren't asking a tech question or giving tech advice. You aren't helping someone achive better performance with their car or asking how to achieve better performance with yours. Plus YOUR track results are pretty much useless to everyone else, because they are the results of YOUR specfic car, and unless people are able to duplicate PRECISELY your car, your driving abilities, the track conditions at the strip on the day you raced, etc etc etc, they will NEVER be able to achive the exact or even close results.

Sorry...you'll have to keep that horn-blowing in the General section.

Oops....didn't read far enough down...George said it better than me (although I gave Olivier a faster track time)

I spend much more time in the Tech/Perf area. I also check out the General section. Posts solely on ET's belong in General.
They need some excitment too or there would be no sense or reason to go there.

This is the longest I've spent in the General area since the split.

I will confess to being "on patrol" in the Tech section for inappropriate posts. When I spot one, I notify the bosses. Their call, of course, on whether it should be moved. I'll be keeping my eye on you Olivier!!!

You forgot....... "with my differential locking up and a camera phone duct taped to my forehead!"

If I understand correctly, if I post stating that I suspect a fuel starvation problem because the car was breaking up on a run and did 13.7 (when it should be much faster) and I need TECHNICAL help with the diagnosis, that's OK. But just to brag (report) on ET's based on previous technical advice should go in general.

If that's correct it makes sense to me.

O's right though, he should have his own section! Something like lunatic repair performance adventure fantasy camp. Or Extreme unorthodox repair and performance upgrades that actually work!
