Well, the vette isn't running. It is a total project (all apart). But, I have the Camaro back (gotta finish it myself). The vette was to defray the difference in the work he actually did vs. what he was supposed to do. I figure he would have owed me a $2,000 refund if he had returned just the Camaro to me... So, to me, the vette is well worth $2,000. I have 3 truck loads of parts.. 3 dashes.. 2 clusters... luggage rack... all kinds of extras that I can sell, after I keep what I want for the vette. I probably will get rid of the extras at good deals to guys here instead of evilbay. I will post pix tomorrow (have to get upload cable for my camera). Thanks for warm welcome
Congrats. Just wondering; why anyone would want to do a full restoration of a '77 Camaro?
When the camaro is finished, you'll understand... Hugger orange, white stripes... serpentine.. black interior.. 17" Boyd Coddingtons... Functional cowl (steel).. very distinctive body shape....
here are the pictures I promised.. It was getting dark, so the interior pix didn't come out. But it is stripped anyway, so nothing impressive. Lotta work ahead.. well er uh it appears that I do not have permission to post pix in here... oops... well, when I am allowed to, I will. They are on my hard-drive. Sorry
Gimme a break dude.. re-sell value isn't the whole deal.. First of all, this was my first car ever... secondly it has been redone from poly bushings up, and thirdly... It isn't even the same animal as the "reserve not met" camaro you saw on eBay for $3500. Mine is a 350 vs. 305, etc., etc.
I believe I figured out the photo upload deal.. here is a picture of the vette...
that rear is sitting just a little bit high ???? or is it the photo ??
I believe you are right dude.. I hadn't noticed it before. Will it make a major difference that it has no interior, gas tank, or spare tire under it.. drivetrain not there either? I know the drivetrain will make the front come down some, but will the weight of the other stuff bring it down to where it needs to be?
Gimme a break dude (although I do appreciate the opportunity to increase my post count), that statement would be like saying your 68 vette reminded me of an opal......
First off, welcome aboard. There weren't a lot of cool looking cars to come out of the '70's but, IMHO, Corvettes and Camaros were some of them. I had an '89 IROC-Z with a tuned port 350 engine and stage 2 computer chip. That car would scat. I loved that car but Corvettes have always been my favorite. To each his own, I guess.
