Default Thanks For the Welcome!

maybe someone can give me some advice.. since there are some knowledgeable vette/camaro guys here.

I have a 1994 Z28/6 speed. I want to buy a crate LT1. I have found a source (Scottey Dickens) that sells different year and code (F, Y) LT1's. Which one would be the best to buy and put into this Z28? I noticed that the code Y 1994 LT1 is the most expensive one, but I'm willing to spend the extra few hundred if it is for a good cause. TIA

I'm no expert but I believe LT1s with the "F code" went into Camaros and Firebirds and had 2 bolt main blocks and cast iron heads. LT1s with the "Y code" went into Corvettes and had 4 bolt main blocks and aluminum heads. If I'm right, I think the difference in the two was about 30 or 40 HP. I hope this helps.
