...if these "newer" Corvette owners know about "waving" and they wave to me, I'll wave back-otherwise I don't waste my "wave" anymore.
Many of these newer Corvette owners used to give me that "Do I know you?" look when I used to wave.
Same here. I don't waste my wave on a c4,c5,c6 because of the "deer in the headlight look" or look down their nose from the late model guy. If I could only ask them what their lease payment was. Does he even know that I'm driving his big brother when I blast him in the 66 or 71? I do wave at other classics whether it be Camaro, Chevelle, Mustang, Mopar. They seem to be the same breed as myself.
Drove my 71 (in the rain) to the Corvette show at Myrtle Beach 2 weeks ago, a brand new C6 comes in with saran wrap across the rear end. When the Miami Vice looking owner gets out I ask him the purpose of the saran wrap. He taped it on to keep the dust from settling in the taillight recesses and complaing about having to drive it 30 miles to the show!
It's the same on an older Harley, It's a low wave with the left hand because it's easeir of the clutch. The *** bikers have no clue. If you are initiating and realize it's no American then keep moving your hand down to check something out around the petcock. Older Jeeps used to be the wave also, Back when they were AMC.
some are "enthusiasts"... and others are just operating their latest toy-to-impress. After the Vette is gone, they'll be on to the next thing... maybe the newest Toyota!!!
Not only don't wave seems they don't want to be bothered to talk either.
I was at a show today C1.2 and 3 people are happy to chat awhile. It seems c4 and c5 people are worried if someone has a better car than them.
down here @ new orleans c5 and c6 owners wont even look at me much less wave at me in my c4. there to good for us.
i only wish one would pull up next to me and try and run me
what a joke that would be.
all c3s wave at me
c3s rock!!!
I was talking to my brother's girfriend today, and she drives a Mini Cooper S, and she gets waves from all the other cooper drivers she runs into...I guess the wave has now passed onto the next generation...either that or their waving frantically, telling them to watchout that they don't get hit by some lumbering SUV...(a hummer comes to mind)
...when C4 owners don't wave I think it's generally because they have one hand on the steering wheel and the other hand is banging the dash trying to get those 'ole LEDs to light up...
..if you catch 'em on a straight to where the can take their one hand off of the wheel, they'll usually wave...
If anybody's car looks like a foreign car....it's theirs.

EXACTLY what I've seen with the 3 or so C6's I've ran into. First off... it isn't easliy recognizeable as a Corvette when it's coming towards you.
And the drivers look like kids who think they just purchased the
"best Honda ever made".
It'as been discussed in the C5 section - that C6 owners need to initiate the wave first.

hey, thats not funny
i always wave at c3s
now c5s.......
i get more waves from C-5s than from C-4s. I hardly ever see earlier than C-4 unless im in the Saturn. Evidently my vette has that rare Corvette repulser generator option, and it's about the only damn thing on the car that WORKS

I did get a wave on the way back from Mojo's crab cruise from a C5. Dad and son in the car were both waving. Today no different lol me and the rugrat went to Concord mall to see the father's day Corvette show. Passed 4 C5's on the way and no waves this time i waited for them to initiate but i always feel bad about not waving lol. I go along with the classic car wave and wave to an old XKE when he pulled up next to me and also a nice roadrunner heading the other way. Both of them smiled and waved back.
