This is exactly correct.
Anyways, most C5/C6 owners are too busy talking on their cellphones, drinking coffee, and holding on to their toupees (if it's a convertible)
Personally, I think that whole waving thing is pretty gay. I don't wave to ANYONE. I do occasionally give a one-finger salute to guys that cut me off, though . Oh yeah...for those that know that my Vette isn't running...I get this same wave crapola on my Harley.
If you are concentrating on waving to people, you aren't concentrating on driving. The ones on cellphones, drinking coffee, and fiddling with the radio are the soccermoms in those giant SUVs. Better keep both hands on the wheel so you can dodge them when they come weaving at you
I got a wave from a Viper while sitting at a stop light in my '71 the other day.........and he was haul'in A$$. Thats one more wave that I have gotten from any C6 What's up with that?
It's the same on an older Harley, It's a low wave with the left hand because it's easeir of the clutch. The *** bikers have no clue. If you are initiating and realize it's no American then keep moving your hand down to check something out around the petcock. Older Jeeps used to be the wave also, Back when they were AMC.
Got an '82 shovel head...I know the feeling
I found it tough to expect a wave back from a C-5 er' when they have one hand busy pushing their cell phone thru their ear.

Not all C5 or C6 owners are snobs. I wave at any vette in my C5, and its the C4's that hardly ever wave back. I even wave at Transams, and Camaros if they wave at me first.
Doesn't matter if I'm driving my '88 or '68 I'll always wave. Like others have already said; there are Corvette people, and then there are people who just own Corvettes.
I was in the '68 this weekend & waved to a red C5 vert, got the WTF? you waving at look - I just laughed. Later on waved to a beautiful '69 RS Camaro and the guy had waved to me at the same time. Doesn't matter if it's a C4, C5, C6, Chevelle, Camaro, whatever - it's not the cars fault if you don't get a wave back, it's the driver.
My wife and I took a ride in the vert this evening. Passed a nice looking red C6.....no wave back. Later went by a really sharp C2...no wave. Oh well....they were both old farts so I guess they couldn't see us.
Wasn't there an article in the old official GM Corvette magazine in the late '60s about the decline of the wave? That was well before I came around, but I always wave to other Corvettes. C1-C3 models seem to give the best response.
...when C4 owners don't wave I think it's generally because they have one hand on the steering wheel and the other hand is banging the dash trying to get those 'ole LEDs to light up...
..if you catch 'em on a straight to where the can take their one hand off of the wheel, they'll usually wave...
Yep, C4 owners are usually nice people, C5s and C6s are another story.........
C3 owners really are also the best to just sit and chat a while, today at bloomington gold we saw a guy running a speed demon, and he was more than happy to spend a while telling us how he setup his cause we've been having trouble lately
Went to houston with my wife, I must have waved at 20 vettes comming and going. Not one waved back. As we were pulling into the drive I had been bitching to her about nobody waving back, She looked at me kind of funny and asked "Do most corvette owners usually wave at baldheaded old men in 1ton4x4's?" Yep stupid can just jump right up on you before you know it. robert
