My first long trip with the finished engine was to Carlisle and I avg'd about 19 MPG (18.8). How does this compare with other vettes?
I have the stock 350 CSB in my 76. It has an Edelbrock Performer carb on a Professional Products Cylone Plus intake and a Crane Cam (262 int./268 exh; 0.446 int./0.459 exh. lift), March underdrive pulleys; top rebuild with big valves.

Believe it or not, I got between 10 and 12 MPG on my 468 Blown 5 speed Pro street vette during the Hot Rod Power Tour 04. Not bad considering. I've since put 2 new BG 750 cfm Mighty Demons on top of the blower (had 3X2's) so expect my mileage to drop a fair amount next year on PT 06!...and with the NEW gas prices...
Some of you are going to think I am crazy, but I am expecting to get over 30 mpg due to my titanium rotors. With such little weight on the wheels it is no wonder. I also expect nitrous-like acceleration gains, neck snapping braking power........................uh......... .sorry. I got off topic in all of my excitement.
I'm down to 12 mpg on my 350. My valve seals are done and I'm burning lots of oil. I have a brand new set of aluminum heads that I'm installing this Fall, so I expect that number to go up.
Just like the literature of the time stated - I'm getting 11 MPG tops, about 10 average on my 72 LT-1. To quote many others here on the forum - we didn't buy these beauties for the fuel economy!!
