If you had to choose between two vettes, both in the same exact conditon, and price/value not being a factor... Both have the same motor. Would you choose a '79 or an '80. Why?

The pointy nose of the 80 makes it look mean...

79. I think it has a more "mechanical" look. The 80-82s seem too bulky up front with that massive front end on em. Sorry.

LOL. All C3s have massive front ends. We need the room for the ponies! the length is the same... Well maybe not, the lenth of a '79 is 185.2 The lenght of an '80 is 185.3. The '80 is one tenth of an inch longer.

'80, the styling is cleaner and meaner than '79.

I had to make the same choice last year. I knew I wanted the 78 - 82 bubble back for wheelchair storage and the 79 - 82 seats for access to that storage. But, I liked the looks of the 79 front end and the 80-82 rear end. I decided that I disliked the 79 rear more than I disliked the 80-82 front. Then I narrowed it down to an 81 or 82 because I wanted a power seat. Target cars were an 81 manual or 82 auto. Ended up with an 81 auto.

80....nose design sucks more air in for cooling..in fact,Corvette Black Book 1953-2006 states "50%" more over 1979....

80 I like the look of the front more plus as mentioned the extra air flow and I like the look of the rear much more.

I like the 80 too. The 79 front I can live with, but the rear without the spoiler The ad on spoiler helps, but the molded bumper of the 80 just looks better.

Default More "Swoopy" looking.

I like the looks of the 80's front and rear better then a 79, or a 78 for that matter. It just looks more aerodynamic, dunno if it is or not,, and dont really care, just looks more appealing to me,,,,,,,,,Peace,,,Moosie

you MUST be joking. lets face it, all the C3 past /72 or so, especially as you get into the later model C3's the performance sucked to say the least.
I have a fully stock '78 L82. I think my wifes Lexus is quicker and faster!
emission requirements in those years just sucked all the performance out of these cars.
The only "ponies" under the hood are miniture ponies!

...thought the '80-'82 AeroShark was one of the nicest designed C3 "rubber bumper" cars.

personally i'd go with the 80, takes advantage of all of the refinements made over the years body and interior. As far as the engine goes, well the powere is there there it just needs to be free'd from the chains of fed emissions bondage

I mean c'mon is is still a small block chevy, add intake cam, carb and headers and your riding high in the saddle

'80. BUT, that's a very biased opinion since I own one.
