Lately I've found myself turning off the radio, rolling down the windows and just LISTENING to the purr of the exhaust while driving. I just love the sound of accellerating away from a stoplight. It's better than music. In other vehicles I've owned, I absolutely hate having no music. I can't drive to the corner store without having the radio on. It drives me crazy. But it the vette, I could drive for hours just listening to that low rumble. Anybody else? Or am I losing it?!
.....I spent hours custom making the perfect stereo system for my '69.....Kenwood radio, custom subwoofer, speakers, and 3 amps for fantastic sound,....but never turn it on. I prefer listening to the lope of the cam.
My Radio is crappy anyway so why bother!? The "puuurrr" is a prefect description. Singing at 75mph in the vette is much better than signing in the shower!
My daughter thinks I'm a weirdo, but oh well...
I'm right there with you.
Can't drive a car without immediately turning on the radio, unless I am in the Corvette. Sort of strange and I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I thought it was old age.

I put a nice Pioneer that plays MP3, WMA, CD, XM, blah blah blah........never turn it on. It just sounds like noise when the car is going down the road with the top down anyway. The car makes its on nice tunes.
Both my 69 and 75 get driven with the tops in and the A/C on, really don't enjoy rushing air and all the noise when tooling down the freeway. Besides, all the rattles and squeaking drives you nuts, you need the radio to take your mind of all the distractions that sound like the car is falling apart.............................B
Never turn the radio on. My power antennae is still lying on top of the muffler after the holding ring broke. Love to drive and listen, listen for breaking parts or problems.......
