Bottom line anyone who dismisses the Corvette as merely a “boy band”, or “talent less”, should be ran over by one regardless of where they are from!
This guy is definately a jerk. But those who chose to expand on about England and the Queen are bigger jerks. Like I said before, England is the one country that is behind us 100% in Iraq, no matter wheather we should be there or not. And for that I salute them. To all the British Corvette Owners here on the Forum, I apolagize for the ignorant Americans who threw insults at you.

I have to take exception to this one too - why is that necessary?

I have lived here in Indianna for almost 3 years now and in that time have been amazed and impressed at the level of patriotism that exists out here , that said , I don't really understand how this is considered OK?
We brits may not wear our patriotism on our sleeves as much as others , but that does not mean that none exists and that certain comments are not offensive.

I am all for having "fun" but there is a point beyond which it is not funny

Oh, c'mon. As a whole Brits are cool people. I've always liked drinking with them. I think that's why they like going to war with us because they like someone new to drink with from time to time. I think ol boy was mad because Chevrolet didn't give him the car to take home! Hell, I have a Union Jack flying on the tool box (sticker) in the garage that was given to me by a Brit the last time I was in the middle east!!

How many here want to be identified with every $%^&* American that is on the boob tube? This guy was a jerk, but also admitted that the Z06 kicked butt for a good price. I lived in the British Isles (with a Vette) and found that, if anything, they have a love of things American. Admittedly this was before Iraq, but I cannot imagine that things have changed so much. One person (TV personality or not) does not a country make. You insult the Brits (of whom I have many friends) and you insult me.

I thought that his review of the car in general was that it was very good and very fast. You have to remember that his comments about its suitability to live with on the roads would be on British roads and in British traffic - this is a world away from roads in the states.

Also a thread that is titled Brits Suck is unnecessary - Jeremy Clarkson sucks would have been a much better choice

nothing to get exited about, it's just a tv show, not an international incident. notice how when he's driving it he can't say anything bad about it, but, when gets in the studio he can't say anything good about it. gear box like a tractor?

The founding fathers would agree with me.

On the other hand,
I've been to London and all over England and its my favorite so far and everyone was friendly.

Default Apologies to Brits for this stupid thread

I watched the clip. It's not offensive to Americans, Corvettes or anything else. It's just wry British humor which most Americans never seem to understand because nobody gets hit in the face with a pie to trigger the laugh track so they realize it's humor.

Default I agree

Greg,
Couldn't have put it better myself. I have watched Top Gear for quite a while now, and Jeremy is not a jerk. He is a comedian and a damn good TV presenter. He slings some mud at a large number of different brand cars, including Porsche and Mercedes, as well as several British makes.

One of the few cars which he had nothing but praise for was the Holden Monaro, made in Australia. You know it as a Pontiac GTO.

God save the Queen!

Regards from Down Under

It was not based on one guys comments!! I work for a British company and I know first hand how arrogant they can be. Just look at Simon Cowl (American Idol)

I think you will find that.
Rover sold the patent rights to Buick a long, long time ago.
The Buick 215ci engine is derived from the British,3.5 litre Rover engine.

Except the Tvr company is now owned by a 26 year old Russian.

That's one man opion of the Z06 which he say's "its an animal on the track but he would rather own the standard vette for everyday". Not a bad ad for corvette. Now as far as the olders vette's who cares what he thinks. Did he compare them to ANY english made "sports" car NO. That's because none of them would start that day.

actually it's the other way, the engine was originally a buick motor, it was very advanced fr the time, one of the very first all alu engines in usa (maybe the only one at that time? i'm not sure), then rover bought it and used this powerplant for about 30 or more years in many road and race applications...with pretty good results i'd say.
