This is all starting to make sense to me. The reason for the dual alternators is to supply enough power for the $200 tail light bulbs. The Mark IV fan is to cool the engine which is overheating because its trying to spin the dual alternators.
My God, I 'm sorry DB, but that is OMGFF
Maybe you should remove the Corvette logo in back, and replace it with ONAN.
Yes. My point is simple. You are giving me a hard time for having that second alternator and I think that's very closed minded of you.
My second alt with no load has the same drag on the engine as an A/C compressor that's not engaged. When loaded, that alt has much less of a drag on the engine than the A/C compressor.
That second alt gives me an idle output around 100 amps, and close to 200 amps at RPM. This means that neither alt will be working hard, and won't be loading the engine down.
Those two alts are a much less drag than you think and they help the charging system in a way that no high power alt can...and a lot of people spend big bucks on high output alts.

Hey I don't care if you put 10 alternators on your Vette. But you gotta admit you are setting yourself up for some ridicule when start telling the world you just spent $200 for tail light bulbs.

Maybe, except that I DIDN'T spend $200 on tail light bulbs. That's what they run for, but I got them for considerably less, and I had no problem sending that money for a cool and innovative new product.
So the "slight discount" discount mentioned earlier is now "considerably less"? Hey DB, you really seem like a smart guy, but you need to quit accessorizing your Vette and stick that bad boy 406 in there and go out and have some fun driving it!

I'm no big fan of non-stock lights...unless they are blue dot tail lights. Old School for me My question concerns their legality on the street. I know many replacement motorcycle bulbs are illegal for street use. Are these lights certified street legal?

Dude, I think it's a cool concept. Pushing the envelope of "cool"???
Hell no, BUT...If you were putting on those crazy 3 foot high tailfins like the ricer kids do, then yes, that would draw the "uncool" flag.
Those are cool lights safer & will definitely make folks wonder what kind of car it is when it's dark outside from the rear.
