I like the lights. I might consider putting them in my 71. I look at it this way. I've spent a good bit of money on the car. It's by no means perfect, but if I can have something that will help the moron on the cell phone behind me wake up and notice my vette is slowing down, then I'm all for it. Just my $.02.

That's a very good call. I would like to mention that these won't work for the housings that don't have the removable lens. Some years the lens is fixed to the housing and the only hole is in the back for the bulb. The X2 lights I bought are just a little too big to fit through that bulb hole.
If your lenses come off them these bulbs will work. I have the bubble lenses o mine worked just fine, and I think most early C3s will have removable lenses.
You're right....he didn't bring up the legality of them...I did. And last I checked the DOT was a federal organization, not state. A simple disclaimer suggesting that folks check the law before spending the cash on them would have been nice. Oh well
DOT is federal...but most states also have laws on things like automotive lighting. Quite frankly, I've never seen the DOT rule on a particular bulb - it just has to be within certain brightness standards.

Probably in PR&C by now.
Bat: I never found the specific DOT rule either. But in some of my motorcycle catalogs they are quite specific in saying "not DOT approved". Those are for tail lights that blink in a circular pattern and flash on stop. Look cool...but technically illegal.

Lawyer-speak: I think these situations are distinguishable.
Do as you please...I like to keep my loose change in my pocket and not add to a speeding ticket with "illegal tail lights". Some cops are real picky.

That implies that someone with these lights would be pulled over. I really don't drive over the speed limit in mine when I'm in town. If I ever get a ticket for these lights it'll be specifically because the police officer pulls me over for them only.

Well considering the number of threads of guys racing rice burners and Mustangs, I think the chances of them getting pulled over are considerably higher. Of course, if these lights are intended for "no-go showboats" and trailer queens, it's a different story

If you don't see the difference between LED taillight bulbs and LED taillight bulbs that flash and do other goofy things, I don't know if we can ever see eye-to-eye.

It's not other people's actions that he is held responsible for, it's recommending people take those actions that he is guilty of.

There you go counting people's post counts again, and making assumptions and judgments based on that number. You have no idea what his background is and what he may know on the subject yet you assume much.
