IMHO, 68's and 69's were the nicest looking C3's (I specifially like the side vents. The later egg crate grills on chrome bumpered C3's are not my favorites. I was never too much into the plastic bumper C3's except for the '80 - '82 Vettes.. Still nice, but I still prefer '68 - 69 and '80 - '82
I couldn't agree more with everything you said. 68 and 69 were the original sharks and have always been my favorite. Love my 68 for the 4 red taillights, key in the dash, push button doors, and the elimination of the stingray emblem. I think they are the cleanest looking of the bunch.

....used to be "Ugh, a '68" at Corvette/Car shows due to the bad rap for years...

...now that the "84" has worked it's way into what used to be the '68's status, now at Corvette/Car shows you get " , look, a '68!!!"

68 cars are the best for several reasons.

Clean styling closest to the Mako Shark idea with minimal "bling"

Many engine options

great colors

more verts than coupes (the last year for this)

dash mounted key

Huge racing ability, the 68 cars dominated AP racing for a while...

Great! You won't regret it! I like mine because it is unique and the first year of the C3.
