ahh,the arrogance of some folks knows no bounds. To many judge others by what they drive (how new), what shoes and suite they wear, ect. I guess all the sports heros,tv and movie folks, that own collector cars are just to poor to own a "nice ,new" car. Wonder if he watches barret jackson.
You should have replied, "Yes you're absolutely right, what was I thinking?, In fact, Your car is soooo sweet, I'm gonna sell my old junker and get a C6 myself..., but y'know, I'm gonna buy a slightly used one, I understand they depreciate about ten grand in the first six months..."

Yup ... and even better:
Ask him what his car payment is every month ... then tell him you own yours outright (even if you don't).
For the kind of money a new vette costs per month, I think I'd buy
more real estate.
First: You don't really believe this a**hole bought the C6 do you? Most likely the C6 is part of his deal as General manager of the place. He probably doesn't even pay for the insurance on it.
Second: In my experience salesmen and GMs are not car people. They treat what they sell as product and would just as likely sell refridgerators if they could make the same commission.
Third: How many C3s do you see drivin' at ya in the morning and how many C6s do you see. Exclusivity is nice.
Fourth: Every morning he'll look in the shaving mirror and see an a**hole. You on the other hand will see a car guy. Which would you like to see?

" Anything older than 5 years is more than past it's prime, and should be left in the junkyard.
If I had an Enzo that had just passed it's 5th birthday I certainly wouldn't leave it in a junkyard! This guy isn't known as "Swiss Toni" is he? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss_Toni
C3s are for poor people? Ask him if that means you get a raise.
I would go out and buy a Z06 just to **** that guy off, then I would be screwed because I wouldnt have a job, and stuck with huge payment I cant afford!
if i were in your shoes i would bring the 76 to work and try and park next to him every time so people could see the beautiful flowing lines of a C3 next to
his 06
A few years back we had a contractor in where I was working who drove a top of the line Porsche 911 turbo, all wheel drive, the works. A friend of his would to rag on it because a Ferrari was a better car. As expected, the other guy didn't have a Ferrari, but people will always find a reason to hate. Usually jealousy IMHO.

The problem with a response like this is, you sound like the poor person that he's making fun of.
I would point out that in the not-too-distant future, your car will be worth MORE than his because your value continues to rise while his drops like an anchor thrown off the Empire State Building.
this guy drives a C6 because he has a small d*#k. I bet he doesn't even know why other vette drivers wave & he doesn't wave back, because he thinks he's too cool. "they must be waving at me because my vette is newer then theirs" "I'm cool" Tell mr. small d*#k that the C7 is coming out soon and they are better then the C6's that will **** him off. (I read that in R&T mag today can't beleive GM is making a C7 already).

Oh, and tell him to go &*^% himself.
SO WHAT if he/we are the poor people that this guys thinks he/we are.
I drive a Honda daily that I paid $100 for ....
I look poor, but you should see my paycheck !!
It's easy to LOOK rich and BE stupid.
Spending your money on a new car makes you look rich.
On second thought, best to just ignore this jerk and get on with your life.
I found someone who yanked my chain today! Ive been working at my job for a couple years now, at a dealership, and had my 76 for quite awhile now. Found out we've got a new general manager the other day, and he just so happens to roll in in a 2007 C6, so, I think to myself, great ice breaker right? I mention his car, and mine, and I get this response: " Anything older than 5 years is more than past it's prime, and should be left in the junkyard. Those things are for poor people.... " .......... WTF?! w....t....f?! What a jackass.
Don't get pissed.... He blew $50,000+ for a 400 HP vette that some people are already sick of seeing... You can spend less than half of that including the car and mods and be more than competetive with the new Z06! I hate to say it but the new vettes aren't sports cars but luxury cars.. If he wants a true vette experience, he needs to by a C2 or a C3! Oh yeah, the L88's in the late 60's that would kill a new Z06 belongs in the junkyard because its past its prime...
