I like the C6, just saw some Z06's today for 100K CDN. How about a new 03 C5 for $51K or an 07 C6 for $65K or a C6 Brickyard for $71K The C6's are nice, but the attitude that come with most of the drivers is not what a corvette owner should have. Imagine what a couple of payments on his C6 could do to an old C3.
Tell him there are some old corvettes that are worth more than his brand new one will ever be worth.
He's not a car guy his thinking is expensive new car equals show of wealth, which he thinks people think of him as top dog. which in reality a Zo6 to me is like any other newer tastless car out there plain and boring, he's just a moron thinking he knows it all because he drives a expensive shiny turd.
He loves Ford ..whatever...he loves Mustangs but doesnt have one..I just look at him and laugh.
Isn't that the truth. Man, it seems like anytime I get a back handed b8tch slap like "Yeah, the best Vette is a 67 with a 427 tri-power." or the "1969 427 Vette is what my uncle had." or "These Stingray Vettes are ugly." etc etc ad infinitum all seem to come from guys who DON'T have a car or even a Vette for that matter!
A guy I work with is a proud new owner of 79 and when we were working on his car the other day he asked me why people in the new vettes don't wave. I told him the usual answer (there are vette owners and then there are vette people) I then told him that when I drive around and see a new vette that looks like they won't wave I just kind of give them the blank stare and the stuck up head wave just to let them know that my car is a little bit better then thiers.
Amazing what credit and a small brain will achieve. C6's are a great new car, but new cars just ain't got no soul. When I pull up to get gas, my 72 gets far more admiring stares than a friend's C6 (which bugs her no end). Then again, we bought a two year old Explorer that had all the whistles and bangs that I wanted and my wife's friend said, "Why didn't you get a Lexus? You could lease one, you know." Like my Vettes, I own my Explorer, it doesn't own me. Wonder what the situation is with the Gen Man? Obviously not really a car guy, probably just someone who wants to make up for a deficit I will leave unnamed with an inflated ego.

The place was owned lock stock and barrel by Bob Grossman who was a racer of some notariety back in those and earlier days, so one day driving thru the lot he spies me and asks who is that to his general manager, who tells him "some kid that works in the parts room". He tracks me down and starts talking about what an awsome car the Corvette is and how does mine run and can he take it for a drive, and do I like it etc. etc. It was hard acting humble after that, heres this famous for the time sports car guy talking to me about my car. Wish I still owned that car, it was nice. Peace,,,Moosie
i had the chance to by a c6 when i was car shopping last year. after sitting in one i realized i liked my 2000 frc c-5 better so i found an 02 z06 with 8000 miles on it. it was mint with a few minor mods ( gears, intake, and tune). it is over 5 years old and will wipe it's a@@ with his new c6. before it is all said an done my restored and updated 75 will spank my z. what i would do is pull the motor on your car and do a nasty rebuild, put a set of gears in it and go with a new suspension. get some sticky tires then challenge him to a race. nothing like having a junkyard queen spank you at the strip. the guy is a moron and is only out to sell cars. anything over 5 years still on the road hurts his profits is more of what he is thinking. he would be better suited in a caddy than a vette. he has no clue of how to truly enjoy a corvette. no matter what year it is, it is still a vette. sure most mid year c-3's dont have much dollar value but who really cares. they are still fun to drive and play with. my 75 will have had countless money thrown at it and will not be worth a quarter of the money spent when i am done but i dont care because it is mine and i am going to enjoy every bit of it.

"yep them thar new Vettes sure is pretty. 'sides, most folks just aint smart enough or rich enough to maintain a classic Vette. You just keep buyin the new ones, boy."
