wiper door
Have been working on my wiper door on my 1970. If I use the override button everything works well. In order to make it work without the override I have to set the blades to a point where the door crushes the right side and I do not get full closure. Is that vacumm switch below the right blade very sensitive to position? Help regionals around the corner!

Do you have the Chassis Service Manual for your 70? It has some good information on the wiper and headlight systems. It helps you understand how they're supposed to work. Doctor Rebuild and other vendors sell some good trouble shooting guides.

This sounds like a vacuum leak. Do you hear one when you turn the car off? Have someone listen for leaks near the engine when you do this. Mine doesn't seem especially sensitive. If I loosen the override switch a hair, the door works without a delay, but the it goes up every time I turn the car on and off, but stays down perfectly (except under hard acceleration). If I keep it tight, everything is perfect except a slight delay on the override switch. Some things on these cars...ya...anyways, hope that makes you feel better.

That relay under the right hand wiper controls the door. Make sure the
wiper is firmly on the "button" - that's the first step. Do a search
because there is extensive info on the forum on this subject.
