I discovered that my car is missing 2 bars that run right under the dash pad (the assembly manual shows them). The connect from one side of the windshield frame to the other and I think some of the vents attach to it. I tried search for "dash bar" and "dash support" but can not find the part I am looking for. Anyone know what these are called or where to source them?
I may have a extra one that I would sale.Let me see later.I have them for my 68,and a friends 69 here, and I think that I have one more here.If not,I'm sure that I can steer you to someone that can help. The top dash sits on it,and has little bolts that go thru the brace to hold the dash in place.I may be wrong, but believed that they dropped this mid-69,but I could very easily be wrong there.

do youself a favor. when you install these two braces, don't use screws to fasten them to the dash pad. get some heavy duty velcro strips from home depot. it's impossible to get to the screws.

vettesbydesign - let me know if you find an extra one. I think my car originally had this brace since there are bolts on the sides and a little metal hanging from them (someone took the old one out by force I think).
I think mine had one (something metal was bolted in and was ripped out at some point). The correct term for this is the "instrument panel reinforcement". If anyone has one they want to sell let me know.
