It's a T56 from an 02 Camaro. But it took a little tweaking and a few mods to get it in there.

do the gauges get the ground from
They all have specific hookups on the autometer gauges. The lighting are all common. All mine funnel into a single ground. Since I had problems maintaining a ground for them (clock and fuel), I ran a ground from the battery to a bus bar in the console and grounded them from there. With plastic bodies on the gauges they are not grounded by the mounting anyway.
You don't say what year as they mount differently in early C3's vs. late.
Search back through the archives and you will find a number of posts on aftermarket gauges. One suggestion, is make sure you have a wiring diagram for your year as it will be helpful when you start cutting up the stock harness (is: Orange is 12v, pink is full, gray is dashlights, etc.).
I used the whiteface Phatom's and made my own Gauge mounting plates.
What seats are you using? Was it hard to mount a different seat style?
Still need to enlarge the hole (slot) for the shifter but not before I have a bezel/trim that will fit properly. I was going with a lokar indicator boot but they are huge, about 6.5 x 5.5 inches
The tach & speedo have indicator leds for directionals, hi beam and lo beam
Looks good
I like the integrated cooler idea, but that hole looks too small to slip a bottle through.
The turn signals & hi-beams never occurred to me. Forgot that I'd lose those in the transition. The LED's look pretty good. Are the blue ones too bright at all?
are those stock window switches?..... i need a different set other than the chromies i have
b
They are modern backlit. They do control the motors directly without the need for a relay. Obviously they're made in china (they came with the most screwy wiring diagram ever), look at the logo on the right one. It's upside down got a new switch of course. Leave it to them chinese to screw things up.
The blue leds aren't too bright, neither are the green and orange ones. There's also red leds near the water temp & oil press. gauges for a warning light.

What material did you use for the mounting panel...aluminum?
I am going through a similar upgrade on my 80, using LEDs for the turn signal, high beam indicator, and brake light switch. The 78-82 gauge cluster is a little more on the committed side, but the idea is the same. I know this is an oooooold post, but I'd love to see any completed projects since this post originally came out. Any with the smaller 3 5/8" gauges, or does that look too small in the cluster?
