I guess its just where I live, I can go about 2-3 weeks and never see a Corvette, not even a C5, but I respected mustang(i hate them, but i respected them) untill the "sold out" in the 90's and just for numbers sake, I wend 2 weeks and counted 254 mustangs in Joplin, (sad i know, for me and ford) but i would HATE to see Corvette do that

Where I live I see about 20 solsctices for every vette I see and that includes C1 - C6!!
Personally, I like the C6 and think it's the best looking Vette since the C3. I believe the next gen will have a few more curves in it, but that is still years away since the C6 is still fairly new. I also like the new camaro. It looks a hell of a lot more like a pony car than the gen 3 and 4 did and they still managed to move forward in the over all design. As far as shark retros go, the after market custom companies can take care of that. I wouldn't expect GM too.
I see some retro of the C3 in the C6 now. Take a look at some of the sharp line and hard edges. The profile of the fender upper edge appears C3 to me.
Anyone else see this or am I the only one with delusion
Absolutely Sometimes I sit in my garage just looking at my '69 siting next to my ZO6, and compare their similarities. While not as sharp, the fender creases on the Z accurately mimic those on the C3. They're both great cars, but driving them back to back brings home the progress 40 years and 3 generations has brought us.

The C6 is closer to the C3 in styling, and a lot closer at that, than the C4 or the C5.
The front fenders have more curve to them, the 'hips' are more pronounced than the C5.
All Corvettes have some of the same styling cues. The fender vents are a progression of the coves on the C1, to the gills on the C2/early C3s.
I saw a view of a C4 one time that helped me see that the shapeliness was still there, although quite subdued. You just have to look for it.
It's there, the C6 is a lot closer to the C3 than the C5 is to the C2.
GM fuglied up the trucks, trying too hard to look like Fords and the Caddies are too edgy/blocky for my taste. If there is one vehicle that GM does right, it is the C6.

At least some of us have an eye for fine art Or we are the only sightless ones
I have always said I like all generations (owning from 3 of them) however I am partial to the C3 and now enjoy the looks of the C6.
As I stated earlier I could go either way with the retro, or not. Just as long as the car remains quality and does not become a stamp project as many others have. The Corvette each year and with each decade has remained King. I don't want to see the Corvette diminish in its status ever and the high price with tech is the only way it can maintain that position regardless or retro or not.
Another thing that bothers me about Detroit is that they keep rehashing the same old names and option identifiers. ZO6 & ZR1, can't they give a new car a new name?
