Since I am new to Corvettes I am not sure of the proper names for some parts. The front of my vette is damaged and it looks like I will need what I call a bumper. I checked Wilcox Corvette and they have parts but I am not sure what to order. Can someone please tell me what I need. Again it is the very end of the hood that has met some unfortunate solid object and cracked this piece and I want to replace it as it looks horrible. I have had the car a week. Thanks.
would it be possible to elaborate on the damage...and what year corvette you have makes a big difference and there are 3 different "bumper" models out there depending on year...68-72, 74-79, and 80-82. If you have a late model c3, most vendors call it a bumper cover. you will need that, all of the mounting hardware if necessary, side marker lights etc it broken. You also have a few options material wise regarding, OEM urethane, flex-fit, or fiberglass. Hope that helps.
See?
I told you I wasn't the only newbie that would ask this question.
Here is my post and the answers to said question.
I'm pretty sure the explinations and pictures will tell you everything you want or need to know to fix your problem.
Glad I'm not the only one to ask silly questions

Is it the chrome bumper or the painted fiberglass that's damaged? Any chance of seeing a picture? That would help get you some answers and perhaps some advice, too.

Alan
PS: Never spoken with an Archaeologist before. There are some Corvettes around that look like they've been buried for a while.
