My father is also a vette fan and one of his toys is a 1972 conv. He mentioned the last time he washed it that the drivers rear seamed to be about 1 to 1 1/2 inches lower than the passenger side. I suggested checking the spring adjustment and he claims they are equal. Body mount? Anybody have this experience?

He needs to do some measuring. On both sides, have him measure and note the height off of a level surface for:

Suspension components
Frame
Body

Once he has these numbers for both sides he can see which of the three is where the problem comes in.

There was just a discussion about this topic on the NCRS Tech Board. The consensus was that the driver's side rear was/is often lower than the passengers side. But not as much as you're noting.
So take DB's advice and take some measurements to see what the difference really is. From the NCRS discussion if it's more than about a 1/2 an inch you need to look for a cause. Could be rear spring, bushings from spring to trailing arm, rear body mounts, or ????.
Regards,
Alan

I am going to suggest that the rear spring is probably still the stock one and it has weakened on that side and is sagging.

I'm convinced it is a GM mold flaw

Interesting. Mine is about 1/2 inch difference. drivers side lower than passenger side. I have measured and aligned and done just about everything back there. I guess it is just a GM flaw.
