In TX, black looks great bc its always sunny, but its super hard to keep clean, and your car in the summer is like an oven.

I had the same problem, black or red. I have owned cars in both colors.
Black +
Very cool reflections at night. If you ever repaint black matches perfectly.
Black -
You wash it a lot and wax it a lot. Shows dust and hot if car sits outside.
Red +
Looks cool and does not show dust and hides swirl marks when waxed.
Red -
Painted rubber bumpers eventually doen't match. Color is off on most cars I've seen. Repaint can be tough to match color.

I vote for red too..I have a black Tahoe and I absolutely loved it when it was brand new (less than a year ago); the paint was perfect one time..now it shows swirls and is a real pita to keep clean. Black does look great though.

Don't forget that red cost more than black. I'm actually doing my projet, and my local PPG store sells red 600$ and black for 450$ for a gallon. Just for the base coat.

Red is the classic color for a
sports car . Black is really nice...when clean; it's COOL
, it's SEXY, but [to me] it doesn't say "sports car".

When washed, polished, waxed, then washed again, Black is tough to beat
it attracts dust & dirt all the time, amplifies any imperfections in the body-work or paint, and if you live in warm climates, it'll probably need to be washed/polished/waxed before sun-up, so it doesn't spot or streak.
My 29 year-old Z28 isn't as attractive, but it can be washed, polished or waxed anytime I like, even IN the sunlight, and looks great after spending 3 days and nights at the drag-strip
