Was going to order all new emblems from year one and then zip but some of the prices have almost doubled in 6 months, whats up with that?
Anyone know if a good vendor thats not outrageous on price?
For instance, fuel door emblem went from 45 bucks to now 74 bucks. nose emblem was 48 bucks now its 78 bucks, thats nuts.

I bought the 'Stingray' emblems from GM dealer much cheaper than other sources.
Boy, that's really saying something when a guy can buy direct from an OEM cheaper than these other places. The prices have really gone through the roof. Pricing on everything has gotten ridiculous over the past 2 to 3 years. I am afraid it's going to get worse.
The manufacturer(s) for these emblems are probably the same, regardless of where you buy them....so go for the least money. OR, if the chrome is in good shape, just do them yourself. Get a small can of chemical stripper, a good-quality small pointed paint brush, and three small bottles of paint. I went to Michael's crafts store for the paint and brush, and selected Porcelain craft paint for metal/glass. Strip ALL of the paint off; clean & dry the emblem really well; then dip the brush in the paint, touch it to the metal area you want painted, and let the paint FLOW onto the surface {don't brush it}. After you get all three colors on and they are completely dry, you bake the Porcelain paint per directions on bottle. After it cools, it will look BETTER than the originals did. Good luck, whichever way you decide.
I repainted my nose and gas door emblems with Testors enamel from the local crafts/hobby store. Liked the color but wasn't sure how they'ed hold up in exterior use. I finally bought the "better" emblems from Corvette Central. The colors look correct, as opposed to the bright red ones that were the cheaper type, but now I'm concerned because nobody here metioned CC until now. I figured that, regardless of where you bought them, they were all made by the same people anyway. Did I screw up?
No. You didn't screw up. There are limited makers of the emblems and they sell to all the aftermarket outfits. I just can't see paying someone $50 for a non-original emblem when the metal and chrome of the original on the car was perfectly fine. For less than $20 in supplies and some time on my part, I ended up with sparkling, "new-looking" emblems...and I did it myself!
