I don't understand this!!! Do you not know what year your car is??? If so many dislike the '70's and '80's sell you car to someone who can appreciate it and go get you a C6 or C7 that surely won't remind you of the '70's and '80's. I think you should do what ever you like and not worry about what everybody else likes because there seems to be quite a few who don't like the year there car was built!!!

I noticed that! I actually have 4 vehicles...3 of which are 70-80's cars. 78 Olds Cutlass,79 Corvette , '84 Chevy El Camino Conquista , 99 Mitsubishi Galant GTZ http://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/ind...ew_item&CID=14

It looks better without it, but if it's functional, it's not the most hideous thing I've seen.

You do what you want. It's not what I would do, but again it's not my car. My questions is were did you find those louvers. I haven't seen them available for years.

I think it looks pretty bada$$, especially on your car. Put it back on there and take some other shots. I think thats the best looking '79 (is that right?) that I've ever seen.

One plus is that the louvers came from a freind off an 80 Corvette that I know he used them on for awhile...I saw for myself...,& I got them for free.Aluminum construction,no dents, dings. I had never seen a Corvette ever with louvers,& didnt know trhey were made for them. When were they offered from? From 78 to 82 -or just part of that run? Factory made or just aftermarket? I only recall seeing them on the Datsun Z cars,70's Mustangs.Didnt the Pantera,& Lambos have them?

Factory never made them. They were aftermarket. I know back in 78- 80 Ecklers and others carried them. Just haven't seen them for years. I thought you got your louvers from someone but still having all the brakets is amazing. It's like finding a new set of Appliance wheels for your car.

Enjoy

Well,I asked for opinions because I couldnt decide. And I certainly got opinions! I asked the question on 4 different vette forums,& havent really added it all up,but it looks like about 80% against,20% for,or kinda for. I may try them out on the general public when the weathers' better, then if I sell,I'll let you know. Thanks

Great looking vette!

Personally, I like the clean lines/looks without the cluttered look that would bring to the back window.
