Default 1972 wiper arms...tech input

I was reading another thread about 1972 wiper arms.

I found out by reading and later looking in the NCRS

judging guide that in fact, the hoses are

copper/brass and NOT rubber like the wiper arms

(73-82) I have now. My next question is...Can I

remove the rubber hoses and retro-fit the brass

tubing? The wiper arms look excatly the

same except for the tubing/hoses.

Input please......

Dave

I suppose, if you can locate them. Sounds like a lot of trouble to go to when synthetic rubber lines are cheap and should last at least 10 years. If it's a "looks" thing, knock yourself out.

Dave,
It looks like Paragon Reproductions has the tubes and the clips to hold them to the arms. Not sure about them being 'brass', I've always thought 'copper', but they have an odd finish on them which I've left alone , so I'm not sure.
Regards,
Alan

Default wiper arm retrofit

I guess my question is....

If I buy the tubing, can it be installed into the wiper

blades and be fuctional as well.

Next year I will take the car to NCRS regional for a

look see. I just want the little things "correct".

Ideas and comments.....

No the arms are not the same so you will need 69-73 arms with the metal attaching point for the tube. The two tubes and new clips end up costing about $100. with shipping. The arms are hard to find any more.
Complete restored arms with all tubes and clips sell for about $350.
and will go up if they are not reproduced.

I got a used set off ebay last year and paid $370.00 ,cleanded them up and they look great. Now the stupid thing is I have not mounted them on my car in fear of them being damaged or stolen.I don't have a points car,so they are a conversion piece.
