Default Looking for NOS Firestone tire

Still looking for NOS Firestone tire GR70-15 White Raised Letter, The ones that say "FIRESTONE STEEL BELTED RADIAL" only, for showing not driving, or where I could find one, there are no reproductions made at this time.

Those are all bias ply ads, Pretendr07 is looking for a radial. Keep in mind that Firestone recalled millions of OEM radials in 1976. I don't remember if it was for 1975 model year tires or 1973 through 1975. So, trying to find an original Firestone from that era will be tough.

This must be the 25th time you've started a NEW post asking the identical question on the various C3 forums.

You are bound to get the same answers over and over, but from different people.

Why not just bump your old post back to the top instead of creating a new one?

The guy I got my '73 from mentioned a tire recall. He said that they recalled them once and then recalled the set that they gave him as replacements. I don't think he ever actually paid for a set of tires on this car.

I believe my spare is original but it's not raised white letter. It's white wall on one side and black on the other. It's a Firestone GR70-15.

I'll do for you something this forum never can, go buy yourself a Hemmings Motor News. You will find one!!!! Don't limit your search to the Corvette section, I'm sure other vehicles used them also...................................

The picture is of an original 73 tire. The only difference is the shield is black. What you are looking for is a replacement tire that was not made till after 1976 and was used to replace Firestone 500's.

If you want replacement tires that is up to you but NCRS or Bloomington Gold will expect Firestone 500's on a 73 or Good year Steelguards.

What proof do you have that the 500's are the originals and not the other ones?

The date codes on the tires and the dealer infomation in 1973. The NCRS judging manual. I have owned a few 73's that came with a dated rim and dated Firestone 500. The tire should show on the 73 sales information.

How do you interpret the date codes on the tires?
