Well it's done! I couldn't be more satisfied with the way things turned out in the end. The car came out better than I expected. The paint is perfect and the gaps came in on the money.
The only thing I have to concern myself with as far as the body is the frame color. I originally was going to go with red for this car and the red frame was a fair choice.
After deciding to change to black/black the frame now needs to be shot with a can.
Not a problem due to the fact that this was a nut and bolt resto and all I have to do is wipe it down mask and shoot.
I could not have found a better man to work on this car than Kevin.
The car ant I both had issues when Kevin picked it up. The body was trash and my head was up my butt.
I mean he had the car a few weeks or so and the owner (me) calls and states he wants a color change............to the interior Too!!!!
But due to his tenacity and persistence all things came together.
I learned that there is NO QUIT in the man I chose for this job.
When I got to see the car for the first time, I fell in love with the paint but I saw what looked like a corvette explosion when I seen the interior.
I thought I would be there a week, but Kevin would say "We,ll get it together bud!"
12 hrs. later the interior was done!!!
Now this job entailed some old parts that were given in exchange for cash and the price came out to be very fair.
Kevin under bid the job in my estimation, so I would send him money on occasion to keep the bills paid, after all a recession will hit businesses like Kevin's first but you have to keep the lights on.
All in all I think everything worked out well, and I drove away happy.
I would also like to thank Kevin and Christy (and Maddie) for their hospitality while I was there.
There are many that wear the WWJD bracelets cause they are trendy, well these people live their beliefs,
not to be trendy but because they believe the Christian way is the right way, and I agree!
Best of luck to you Kevin in your move and if there is ever a time when I can help in any way, just let me know. Heck for a $61.00 train ticket or a 8 hr drive I can come back down to help you with the move. Never been to Odessa before anyway!!
Let me know my brother and I will be there for you.
Thanks also to all who participated in this thread.
SLY!!!
