Hello,
I am new to owning a vet C3 (1981) white. I had gotten to car from good friend and it’s a solid little car runs well. This is my first classic car let alone a corvette. What should I know about the care and "feeding" of my new beloved vet? I know the motor has been rebuilt (10kmiles on it). I know the headers, block, oil pan, crank caseing, and exhaust system are all original. The rest however is all rebuilt with aftermarket parts. The transmission is original but is strong, shifts smoothly and no odd sounds. What should I look for or lessen for to catch any problems before they become an issue? Also on the resale of his vehicle if I decide ever to sell it what can I expect ask for it knowing the car is not orignal?
You have many questions there and too much info for one response.
You need to do some thread searches on this site and a few hundred hours of reading to get caught up. All your answers are here.
Congrats on your new purchase.
Keep it tuned up and regularly do lube jobs and oil changes. Use a quality oil filter and good oil....organic or synthetic. Find out from your friend how long ago (time and miles) the tranny had its fluid and filter changed and whether the differential has had the lube changed out since he's had it. If it has been a long time for that stuff, take it to a oil/llube shop [or DIY] and have all of that done. {Buy a new tranny pan gasket to put on it when change is done.} Once that is out of the way, enjoy the heck out of it and just "listen and feel" for any 'changes' in its behavior. When you notice something odd, take it to the Forum for advice. (P.S. check over your radiator hoses and accessory belts, too.)
Thank you for your help guys i'll be looking around on the forums for more info. I guess maybe should not drop so much infomashion down at one time and expect people to have all the ancers. Just some advice to help you get answers, use the spell checker. It's the little check mark with abc above it to the top right of where you post. Congratulations on your Vette.
Second tip: Fill out your profile so everyone knows what part of the world/country your in,what year and type car you have, etc. Pictures would be nice, too.

Of course, sometimes the spell checker doesn't catch ALL the spelling errors, eh?
Remember this comes from and goes all around the world and he may be new to the English language. I would say, not bad if this is the case. How many languages do you know and can you do all of them without a few mistakes ?

A profile would help to determine that then, wouldn't it?

I think that's more bad grammar than bad spelling. But read his second post, if you can. As I said, just a little advice. He doesn't have to take it, he is free to spell as poorly as he desires.
