Default Progress report..New engine install ALMOST done!! PIX!!

Only BIG jobs left are Dewitt aluminum radiator, and Vintage Air A/C system. Waiting for a shipment from Willcox of radiator seals, will be here in a few days!! Hope to have it running by around June 10th.

From this...

To this...

Now THIS!!!!

Oh, and those cheap-*** ugly valve covers are history, I already have a pair of polished aluminum ones, saving until the end!

Looking good so far. What color are you going to paint the car?

Now that the engine and compartment looks so-o-o good, you've gotta replace those valve covers. Nice job so far.

Either the original Ontario Orange or the new Atomic Orange. It has a dark saddle interior. Will do a black stripe from L88 hood bulge, over the top, across the deck, down the back side. Wide stripe, with a pinstripe on either side of the wide stripe.

The Ontario Orange did come with a "Firemist" optioned paint color that would look great on that car. It's not quite Atomic Orange, but it is an original color option.

I think the atomic orange would be a great color on your vette. Heck, I even like the black primer on the front fenders and think that would look pretty darn good on there. If the rest of the car turns out like the engine bay has, you should have you one nice ride. Keep up the good work.

Actually its not black primer, its new press molded right fender and hood surround from my encounter with a big fir tree last year!

I am kinda leaning towards the Firemist Ontario Orange, though I've been stuck on Atomic for months now! I think the Ontario will be more "orange" and the AO a little more copper...and OO is original, I sorta like that too..

Engine bay looks great.. ...nice before and after shot. I think you should paint it whatever color you like the best, unless you plan to sell it one day.....then I'd go with the original OO.

BTW, I use to make deliveries over to Gig Harbor back in 94-96 when I was driving for "Key Trucking" out of Kent. (Lived in So. King County for 40 years) Very nice area over there in GH.
