I realize this may be a dumb question but I thought Astro Ventilation was on Vettes that had no AC. I know mine has AC and does Not say Astro Ventilation on the windows. However lately I have seen a couple cars on ebay that have AC and on the side of the windows is printed Astro Ventilation. Could someone please clear this up for me.
Thanks
my 72 BB says it on windows and it has air. i beleive the ones with air the astro vents are plugged from factory so it dont really work but they still say it on side windows.
Well the cars I have been looking at are the 74 model and posibly the windows were replaced or GM was putting them on until they ran out. My car was finished sometime around March 12 and there is nothing on the windows and I know my windows are original to the car.
1968 GM cars had no side vent windows. But they all had Astro Ventilation. Some of the glass has the logo and others don't. They had to be introduced or used beginning sometime in the 1968 model run.
my pieces are,
1968 Vette, no AC 'with' Astro ventilation windows. One of my two 68 Camaros with AC also has the Astro ventilation and the other one dont..... whatever....
...my '74(build date Sept 11, 1973)VIN#01950 has the "Astro Ventilation" script and it is a non-A/C car. It has the original glass all around too. Bought it in '89 with 26,000 miles on it.
I did a search and it appears that 73 was the last year that all cars had the script. In 74 some but not all cars had the script. My guess is that they used what was left from 73 production until it was gone. If anyone has a 74 NCRS TJM I'm sure it is on there.

75-77 manual say early 75 coupes and late 75 verts have been seen with astro ventalation glass. Most all 74's must have had astro glass but some real late 74 cars did not as stated in the 73-4 manual.

I assume that going by the trim tag "March 12" is close to when my car came off the assembly line. Would that be considered late in the production?
