1980 Stingray?

Majority of the people who will look at the car, except for some Corvette folk who get hung up on such things, are not gonna know. It's their car, do what they want with it and don't give a hoot about what anyone else thinks. Others don't like it, too bad!
On the flip side, the OP did ask for opinions and got them which each is entitled to. But bottom line, do what YOU WANT.
I have 63 Emblems FI on the side of mine, I have a 76 "Corvette" rear emblem, 62 Fuel Injection emblems on the hood. I did it my way.

Dude, I saw your car in Corvette Enthusiast, and that is what gave me the idea! That is one sweet car! When I get the aftermarket fuel injection, eventually, I will definately be putting some sort of FI emblem on it, and that got me to thinking.....

I wonder.........If they continued making the C6 but took the name corvette off of it and left the car with no name stamped anywhere, would these people say it was no longer a corvette?
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Good Grief man, if your making the payments on the car do whatever you want. Put a Ferrari badge on the nose...if you want.
Be prepared to catch some grief from the "Corvette Police" who feel it is their mission in life to make stupid comments and insert themselves into your business, which are basically none of their concern.....
and.........
If you ever want a real Stingray that everyone will agree is a Stingray, go buy one.

^^^ What? ^^^
this is silly.
Put the emblems on the car. Hell, if you want, do the purist thing, read about the minor issue of cost cutting on the C3 then, put em on if it makes you feel better. To say a 76 is somehow "more" of a corvette than an 78 is flippin' comical

btw... put them on the car!
Now, if you had a 427 emblem on there, that would be crossing the line. But, there really is no such thing as a "Stingray." Some C3's had this emblem and some didn't. There is NO MECHANICAL, VISUAL, AESTHETIC upgrade or enhancement. GM themselves said it was "SIMPLY AN EMBLEM."
But, if some Corvette Cop is compelled to give you grief because you put them on your car, ask him why a certain year corvette has a G.D. Vega steering wheel in it?
I have taken my Vette to numerous Corvette events, HPDE, dyno days, shows & cruises. Never...EVER once did anybody come up and tell me that the 80 shouldn't have a "Stingray" badge on it.
I would politely have to pull my boot out of his a$$ for starters, then, I would ask them if they would "feel" better if I detuned my engine, put the single exhaust back on, took off my headers, cam, intake & carb, take my Tremec 5 speed out and install the crappy 305 cubic inch turd the car came from good gawd GM almighty who can't do any wrong up in car heaven!!!!

By the way, just because nobody comes up to you and says something doesn't mean half the Corvette owners at the event aren't thinking it.
Yeah, I think the OP should go ahead and stick them on there. Maybe a couple of C4 Corvette emblems too. It'll give us Corvette Cops something to chuckle over.
