I have the emblems on my 1980 (and, according to GM, they were "Just Emblems") and they look awesome.

does this make you mad?

Then, you'll probably not like this either:
This isn't a real baldwin car. (Flame him!!!!)

This car had a 305 from the factory...
(now has a sticker on the engine that says 350 on it!!! sinner!)

Look, it has a different looking grill from a 1977.

It must be an entirely different car!

PLUS... I heard the owner took the TH350 transmission out and installed a tremec WOW! FLAME HIM!!!

(sarcasm sarcasm sarcasm....)
you see, if GM had made any style changes, engine, performance or suspension enhancements to correlate with the "Stingray" emblem then, yes. I could empathize with you. But, since it is painfully obvious that it doesn't, the whole emblem thing to me is but a joke.
I hope some of you appreciate this as pure satyrical humor. It's my Vette, not yours

There's a guy on the forum with an 80's vette with a ford motor in it.
He even has a big *** ford logo under the hood.

Just to beat a dead horse some more. I forgot, I have a C6 cross-flags emblem on the nose along with the 63 FI emblems on the hood. I will probably rot in hell for that.

Lots of interesting opinions here. I'm not particularly enamored with the Stingray emblems on my '69, but since the General put them on there, I'm keeping them on the car. If you like the look of the Stingray emblem on your Corvette, Scottyp99, then GO FOR IT! It's your car, and you can do with it whatever you want. There are a lot worse things you could do to the car. As OregonVette80 has shown with his photos, the emblem looks just as natural on an 80 as it does on the 69-76s it came on originally.
Cheers,
Pete

Default Stingray

I have read that the Stingray name was removed from the Corvette to mark that the man behind the Stingray name Bill Michell retired. His last year working for GM was 1976.

??

Best regards
