The first pothole, the first speed bump, the first curb at your buddie's house and bump, bang, boom. Not only does it look like yuk, it's not practical. When they get them down low like that for racing they never drive those cars again on the streets. Course, if you are the mood to do it, it's yours. Too many here, including me, like the original lines better than this. I haven't measured mine but between the low points on the rear suspension and the ground it's already low enough to make it impractical. You have to even use special tactics or extra wood ramps to lesson the angle to get them on a trailer as is in many cases. Have fun but it would sure ruin the car for me.

Now go back through the thread and read all of it this time. This car will never bottom out and rides nicer than a Cadillac. ...VERY practical.
they're colorado custom ledville wheels... (and they're for sale )
and yes if all goes according to plan it should be done for the detroit autorama next spring
Very nice work. Never miss an Autorama. I'll be looking for you! You going to Corvettes America this year (Aug 13th at White Lake)?

I just realized that I responded to an Oct 08 post of yours in the beginning of this thread. Guess you're not going to make the 09 Autorama............ Kidding. I know the deal with being just one person. Trying to do it myself and am about 2 years past my original estimated completion date. Doesn't matter to me though. Like you I'm sure, I just want to do it right rather than rush through it and take shortcuts and have a machine in the end that I wish was done differently. Didn't plan on having a "brand new" 69 but in the end, that's what it's lookin like it's going to be. Not complaining, just anxious. And to think it all started by changing a fuse

well had the car not been in and out of paint shops for 2+ years it'd prolly be done by now.... but you know how it goes.. all will work out in due time
Looks wicked! Absolutely love it! I'm sure looking forward seeing pictures of your airride fabrication.
I also want to get air suspension on my Vette. It's got way to much air over my wheels, but I can't drive it any lower due to my front end. And also Norway has f***ed up roads!
You've done an awsome job, and keep up the great work! Don't worry about those bitching about you "ruining" your car! They just don't know better!
Looking forward seeing new pictures!
Ok,i wouldnt do my car that low but thats just me,i did lower my car a bit though and then i raised it up just a bit due to my car was bottoming out every where,i just could not have this happen, how can you stop this from happening unless you make your cars ride so rigged ,it will ride like a tank.how are you solving this problem? You will only be able to ride on really flat surfaces.Bill
That's why air is so nice. You can have it what height you want. That's the reason I would like air because I can't have it very low when I drive it, but I sure like it when it's lowered. I wouldn't have the wheels all tucked up in the fenderwells, but it's all about what you like.

you really need to read the whole thread man...
the car is on air ride, from full drop it gets 10" of lift, so i can basicly set it anywhere in that space...
they've been working me to death at work the past month or so, so i haven't really been able to get much done on it... but I am working on getting all the bugs worked out of the wiring system, and get all my hoses and lines hooked up, then she'll be ready to fire up...
