the paint/body work is moving along slowly but surely
the body itself is ready for color, just waiting on the engine compartment to be primed/painted... so it's comming along smoothly we're figuring a couple weeks for color
here's a few pics

haha yea this project has been fighting me tooth and nail for the past 3 years, but i'm finally making some real progress...
it was hell on earth but after 2 years and 4 painters, the car is FINALLY PAINTED!
so here's some updated pics of the project...
first i'll start off with the professional renderings i had done by my friend chris at www.design165.com
exterior rendering:

interior rendering:

ok now onto the actual car:
the color is my own custom mix that i have yet to name, i'm thinking "Sunburst Yellow" as it is a custom yelllow with a gold pearl midcoat and just POPS in the sun as you will see in the pics
at the paint shop:

how she's sitting right now:

now on to the engine bay:
i'm trying to keep it as un-cluttered as possible

the brakes:
I have taken the liberty of shaving and painting (along with wetsanding and polishing my stock delco claipers... they turned out supurb
you can also see where my front schocks are now located due to the air ride suspension

and here are some pics to show how low the car actually is with the bags totally deflated

I have also installed a HAYWIRE wiring harness into the car, it was very simple to install and hopfully it all works out as i have yet to put power to it... i'll keep you updated
now before anyone tells me how much they hate what i have done and that it's ugly... yada yada yada... all i can say is keep an open mind... i would like to think that all the customizations have been very tastefully done, and have given the car a look all it's own...

I think what you did is exactly what you mentioned. Tastefully done and very cool. I think you did a great job getting it done in 3 years. I'm finishing up my Nova now after a ten year on again/off again build with it. ....and I have an ugly '77 Nova. Don't worry about the nay-sayers. You did an outstanding job of building a hotrod. Who cares what the purest wienies think.

Well said! Me too.Trucks_69 the car is coming along great! The color really pops. Keep up the nice work. You're getting there. Very
Maybe it's just how the light is catching it, but the color in this photo is absolutely awesome!
What harness did you use from Haywire? How'd the overall wiring of the car go? That's my next step when it comes back from paint and body - just curious as to what I'm getting myself into.

as for the haywire setup... it is their e-series universal kit... (the one that has every accesory you would need)
and let me say it took me about roughly 2 solid days to wire the car, that was soldering and shrink tubing every connection and routing the wires as need be...
someone with alot more patientce than me could prolly have it done in a day easily... i reccomend this harness
i'll try to get some suspension pics here soon... i really don't have any of it all painted up and whatnot
i will say this tho... the rear setup is 95% bolt in... and my front setup is all bolt-in with the exception of my schock mounts...
everything from the bag cups to the control arms out back are 100% hand made from scratch...

I am looking forward to more pics of your car as work progresses. The engine bay is going to be awesome.
The renderings of the interior also have my interests piqued. Keep the pics coming and keep up the good work.
